Xbox is outselling Playstation outside of Japan.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

I'm surprised at the XBS outselling the PS5 in Oceania.

Didnt the 360 outsell the PS3 in NZ and it was neck to neck in Australia?

I have no idea.

No surprise Series X/S is outselling the PS5 in Oceania, here in Australia the Series S is in Stock at most retailers, the Series X received a big batch at the end of January/Beginning of February whilst the PS5 only received a very small batch a few days ago within the last 2 months or so.

I can't believe XBS came within 1702 globally of overtaking PS5 this week, despite many of its gamers playing on PC/phone. Crazy! I know the chip shortages, but XBS would sell more without chip shortages too, not just PS5.

Every quarter since launch, Microsoft has said that Xbox demand has exceeded their internal expectations. I wonder if they bought more fab capacity in response.

These are the types of numbers I remember seeing back in the 7th generation, where Japan was basically single handedly responsible for giving PlayStation a global edge for many of the weeks during those years

I can't help but think the Series S was brilliant.... readily available and easy to find. Meanwhile ps5 and series X are hard to find. MS filled a gap that Sony overlooked.

Switch OLED

Xbox ... so close

I do think OLED shortages are limiting Switch sales. However, this is still pretty good, because I think the other 2 models are readily available. I live in the US, and I checked several stores last week. Base Switch is easy to find now, while Switch Lite and Series S are not too hard to find either. Meanwhile I don't think I've ever seen a Series X, OLED or PS5 available in any store ever.
