Now coming for 165 million

So entering the Indonesia market is definitely great news in terms of trying to exceed 160M. Not only for the Indonesia market itself, but it indicates that Nintendo isn't ready to phase out the Switch 1 as soon as we think just yet, and it could indicate a more long term plan to market the Switch 1 in other uncharted territories and market it as a budget console for those countries. This also points towards the idea that the rumored India rollout of Switch 1 may happen as well in the future, which could be big.

Now in terms of how much this can push the Switch 1 to 160M. When taking a look at Indonesia's population of 288 Million, that is a huge market and just in terms of population alone it's close to the U.S in size. So even a small portion of this market would be enough to outsell 160M.

Now that's just by looking at population numbers, in terms of how realistic it is to capture that market it's likely not going to be very easy. Most people settle for free to play mobile games or PC games mainly cause most people can't economically afford a game console and games. To put into perspective how consoles do there. PS per generation is by far the most dominant platform in the country accounting for 76% of the consoles market share in the country, but even then most estimates put each PS generation selling only around the few hundred thousand units and not cracking a million. Mainly the price is the biggest issue and we'll see if Nintendo can price it correctly and maybe a free pack in game makes the deal more enticing especially with how expensive console games are over there. But most likely scenario it will likely sell maybe in the low 100-500k units, which is still pretty big when the gap is only 3.5 Million to PS2.

Nintendo is gonna make a bundle of a Switch 2/Switch + a physical copy of Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee available in Indonesia to promote these consoles there. Pokémon is widely popular in Indonesia (saw some dudes commenting this on twitter). Let's Go indeed!

This bundle is coming for blood 

The Switch shipped 0.67 million in Q1 and vgchartz have the July estimates at 0.147 million. That would put this fiscal year above 0.8 million in the first 4 months. Considering that, how likely do people feel that the Switch will beat its 2 million forecast. I think that 2.2 to 2.3 million might be on the cards for this fiscal year.

Is it happening already?

According to trunks estimates, NS sold 45k last month in row, up by 6k units month over month (keep in mind that june was 5 weeks month).

NS1 is NOT going to be discounted anytime soon.

#1 NS1 is doing over 2 million before launching into new terrority
#2 NS1 is the only budget console available right now, outside of their 1st world countries you realize that most people around the world just do not have $500+ dollars to invest into entertainment, thats before games and additional controllers. 
#3 Nintendo (or Sony or Xbox) is not going to launch in a major new country without the next few years being set aside for the console to grow and develop. Launching in a new country requires a lot of hiring, marketing, planning, manufacturing, collaborating. Unless the console sells next to nothing, Anyone who is in business knows that Nintendo already has the next few years planned out for expansion and growth. Launching a system in a country takes a lot of time, effort and money then simply repackaging an already manufactured unit and shipping it to retail.

Personally, I expect the NS1 to continue being manufactured past 2030. Even if only a few million units are produced a year.

Edit: For the record, I am not a Nintendo gamer, have not been since i was a kid, never owned a NS1 or 2 and do not plan on buying one. 

At this point, with the rising prices for gaming hardware, I really think releasing docked only models of both Switch 1 and Switch 2 would be a good move by Nintendo. They could sell these models for 50-100$ less, increasing the mass market appeal of the products (especially valuable with every other console being extremely expensive). That would easily lift Switch 1 over 160m units.
