Forums - Gaming Discussion - Which game from Activision/Blizzard will you miss if they go full exclusive?

Crash Bandicoot.

The PS4 gen was great because we got remakes of all the best Crash games plus a worthy sequel with Crash 4.

Tony Hawk, maybe, if they ever release THPS 6 and is good.

You're right.

There's a lot more to miss from the Bethesda acquisition than this one. I say that as a primarily xbox/PC player whose only modern PS console is a base PS4.

I think that's mostly because Activision has left many of its beloved franchises unused. Crash has no active delopment and Spyro neither.

One thing which does excite me about this purchase is the liberation of Call of Duty, which despite the gem in the rough of Modern Warfare (2019) has been in my opinion in decline in terms of quality and sales since Black Ops 2 (2012). I know there's a lot of derision towards it, but I consider most entries before 2012 to be amongst the greatest games of that generation. And, like it or not, the FPS genre is now split between BR and fantasy arenas. BF2042 is a flop. I think some smarter management, a grittier story could get that series on its feet again.

Also the big bonus for all platforms, even Playstation, is that Bungie is liberated from Activision.

Yes guys for the sake of argument, pretend that you wouldn't be able to play those IPs anymore. So if in a make believe you prefer to change being exclusive to microsoft platform pretend it would be either if Activision gone under instead of being purchased or they never make another title on that IP.

For the market and Sony it is possible that Activision is a bigger loss if they go exclusive, but for most gamers on this forum Zenimax is likely much heavier loss.

For me considering the big western publishers Activision, EA, T2 and Ubi I would only miss Ubi more likely, T2 have good games but not much on my particular taste, now EA and Activision in general doesn't even register for me.

Literally none.

Activision Blizzard games have lost my appeal for some time now so this buy-out doesn't affect my Playstation experience and also why I personally don't care much about it.

None. Even if they all are only available on xbox (so leaving mobile, PC etc) still none.
I haven't touched any of those games this century.

Similar to doom, and wolfenstein. I played lots of those games when younger. I lost interest in them over time.

I played some CoD because of the PS+ but no Doom and Wolfstein I guess since before 2000 as well.

With these studios now reportedly feeling "liberated" from CoD, I could see a lot of revitalizing old ip, and honestly a lot of new ips being made. It isn't just losing out on the games/ips they currently own, but also all the new ips they are going to be making. They had what, 4-5 studios making Call of Duty alone?

Make one live service Call of Duty for the next ten years like they have with Halo Infinite. Pump out plenty of dlc, story and multiplayer, let the other 4 teams make new ips or revive older ones.

I believe that is the biggest hope most are having with the acquisition that MS may go for a very different direction than Bobby.

Hopefully! I just started out in software development, and I get to move around on projects a decent amount. Leaving jobs is risky for another company, a lot of uncertainty. I'm sure a lot of devs/artists/etc over there have become completely over making cod games.
