Forums - Gaming - What would you want Sony to trade for CoD on PlayStation?

Microsoft wants to merge with Sony someday. This is a bridge toward that reality. For now Microsoft would trade Cod for Sony’s dependency.

^This. LOL.

PS1   - ! - We must build a console that can alert our enemies.

PS2  - @- We must build a console that offers online living room gaming.

PS3   - #- We must build a console that’s powerful, social, costs and does everything.

PS4   - $- We must build a console that’s affordable, charges for services, and pumps out exclusives.

PRO  -%-We must build a console that's VR ready, checkerboard upscales, and sells but a fraction of the money printer.

PS5   - ^ -We must build a console that’s a generational cross product, with RT lighting, and price hiking.

PRO  -&- We must build a console that Super Res upscales and continues the cost increases.

I'd much rather SNY tell Phil they're going to think about it for a bit, even though they have no intention.
Then buy someone else big/important enough that will upset MS, even if SNY has to (within reason) over pay to outbid.
Then call Phil back and ask him what he plans to leave on PS to keep whatever franchises SNY would now have on XB and GP.

Turn the tables. Don't cower like a b*tch.

Guerilla games are working on a shooter . Would also like to see resistance on ps5, and bring socom back. Even time splitters would be nice.

I do not believe COD will stay on Playstation regardless of what Phil says. It's too big a fish not to haul in. I don't think they'll do it right way, and obviously they're trying super hard not anger Sony's fanbase, but I believe it's inevitable that it becomes an Xbox exclusive. I also think, in the mean time, the day-one Gamepass thing is going to syphon a lot of COD gamers away from Playstation. Not a huge amount, but way more than you'd expect. Because let's face it: when you can pay 1 dollar for a month trial, or 3 dollars for three months, (pretty much all new subscribers get one of the two), that's a huge deal and a lot of gamers are going to be like... three dollars? or sixty dollars plus DLC? And they're going to go the three dollar rout.

Those who own a ps4 or ps5 ? I doubt many will switch to gamepass cause of 1 game. But I am curious now as to how many console owners only play the 1 or 2 games.

SNY should have COD for another year or two. MS will sit back and see what SNY does, because it's unlikely SNY will bend the knee quickly.

If SNY does something about this, with either acquisitions or their own first party reaction to games like COD, then MS will likely lock COD down.

If SNY doesn't react, or their attempts to, fail, then they either have to give in to MS, or take the hit and losses that will certainly come with it.

I'd guess 25 million max, but it's not so much the amount of games, it's how many get the console for COD, then buy a few other games to fill the gaps and for a bit of a change here and there. One of my buddies used to be like this. He'd buy a PS console just for COD, then buy the odd game here and there while waiting for the next COD, even though he only took little breaks from COD period. He's only a casual gamer as well, but COD is his jam.

Spiderman, FF7R and FF16 for COD.

Why not.

Considering COD BO3 was the best selling game in 2021 across the entire industry, it ranks 3rd as PS best selling game on the PS4. Only behind Uncharted 4 which was heavily bundled and GTA5 at number 1. COD WW2 ranked 5th on PS4. 2 COD games ranked in the top 5 selling PS4 games is massive. So the revenue Cod brings into PS is absolutely massive. When the 360 had all the COD deals, people flocked to the 360, the moment PS4 got the COD deals, the audience swapped again from 360 to PS4. COD has a following that don't care for platforms, they go where the games go. This is something Sony is looking into i am sure of it.

MLB The Show

Basically this, even though it's already been on Xbox recently. A physical copy is important for me though. I only need the version that'll have Shohei Ohtani on the cover (I assume it'll be this year) and that'll do me for this console cycle.

Side-note: I hope they have the wit to call it 'MLB The Sho'. It'd be an epic lost opportunity otherwise.
