I want to say 20+
But with how people keep talking about the chip shortage
I would predict maybe 18-20

It seems that they wanted to ship more than 22.2m units for FY2022. They haven’t changed the forecast, but seems nearly impossible.
Going with 18-20m units.

18-20mil seems like the most likely option.

Sony said they wanted to ship 23m units next fiscal year right? That would be the most a PlayStation system has ever shipped in one year. As long as the chip shortage doesn't have a bad impact on them next year I think their sales are going to be very strong. 18-20m.

Edit: Target for fiscal year ending March 31st 2023 is 22.6m units shipped.

18-20 million. The demand is high, but the supply will continue to be constrained. PS5's 2022 sales should be close to the Switch's 2022 sales, and Xbox Series S/X will be in third place in 2022.

Lifetime Sales Predictions

Switch: 151 million (was 73, then 96, then 113 million, then 125 million, then 144 million)

PS5: 115 million (was 105 million) Xbox Series S/X: 57 million (was 60 million, then 67 million)

PS4: 120 mil (was 100 then 130 million, then 122 million) Xbox One: 51 mil (was 50 then 55 mil)

3DS: 75.5 mil (was 73, then 77 million)

What happens if it sells less than 12m. Does everyone lose the bet?

It would take an apocalypse to happen for it not to sell 12m, so we'll have bigger things to worry about than the bet.

Don't the rest of you want an easy way to take my money away?

Kind of like with my Xbox prediction, I don't think that PS5 numbers are going to be significantly up. 2022 will have multiple new product launches, some using similar chipsets to what the Series and PS5 use, in addition to continued supply constraints. Unless these new products are delayed, then I'm thinking only a moderate boost from 2021. My guess is around 16M for PS5 where I'm expecting around 10M for Xbox.

Xbox Series will be up from Xbox One, but PS5 will be slightly down from PS4. Both will only be one to two million over their 2021 numbers.

I have a feeling they aren't going to hit this number. Personally, I don't think they are going to hit their 22.6M total PS5 shipped amount by March 2022 either. I think Q4 isn't going to be as high as they wanted it to be.

But I'd love to be proven wrong! It's not like I have a history of being right on these kinds of things. Heck, I thought Switch would only do 22-25M this year. Look how that turned out? 25M is the floor.
