Not an xbox gamer myself but just curious. Considering this is releasing on Gamepass, I would assume that sales for this may be lower that prev entries while gamepass numbers will be very high?
I would also be curious as to whether this bumps up gamepass numbers.

Pretty much yes to everything. Copies sold will be likely on the lower side, player number count and active players may reach an all time high for a Halo game, so a trade off. This will surely bump up Game Pass subs as well in the process.

Negative 8 quintillions. Not saying the series sucks but wasn't impressed with the 2 games I played. 1 and 3. I like plenty of Sci-Fi FPS games but Halo did nothing for me.

Not that interested. I love Halo. But I haven't even finished Halo 4 yet. Won't be getting Infinite until I finish 4 and 5 first (would also require a Steam port of 5 too!).

Okay.  But, there really is no need to play the games in order.  While there definitely is real story in the games, the real appeal of Halo for pretty much everyone is the great feeling gameplay, including the use of vehicles that feels like it fits.  Also, the gunplay is second to none.

To put it another way, I'd bet that 90% of Halo players couldn't even tell you a rough outline of the back story of the Halo universe.

As I mentioned in one of the news articles, I've been playing Halo since before Halo was even on Xbox Live. I want to be excited about this new game. I really, really do. But this grapple thing... it just screams frustration. I can literally imagine a handful of situations where I'm going to get the jump on somebody, only to have them snake their way out of it like Scorpion on crack and kill me. In that way, it sort of reminds me of Armor Lock from Reach. I loved Reach... until everyone started using Armor Lock. After that, I walked away. So I'm worried the same thing will happen with Infinite as well.

Hopefully 343 creates a "classic" playlist because otherwise, I'll probably end up passing.

It pains me reading this because Halo 2 has the best campaign. There is a lot of info missed jumping from 1 to 3. Halo Reach is followed right behind it.

As someone who despises armor lock, the grabbling hook is really not an issue. Unlike armor lock people still get killed using it, there is only a 5 use limit per pick up, and there won't be a team of jackasses all using it at once because it's not possible.

I'm sure 343 will have a classic Playlist at some point.

Probably day one and with gamepass, I just have so much to play it is insane but not sure what to do first, campaign or mp..

Day one. Very excited for the campaign, it looks like a natural progression of Halo into modern times. A blend of Halo and the Ubisoft open world formula. The idea that there are multiple enemy strongholds everywhere for you to tackle as you please, exploration, upgrades, sounds great.

And the MP in the tech tests was very good.

Wait... so it's basically a power weapon? I thought it was part of everyone's basic move-set.
