Fair enough, but that's what we've been working with since January haha (last leak was Dec 2020)  The results of the game are always based on who got closest to the official results (as the host has always had access to the data, but does not disclose the actual numbers).  To avoid too much extrapolation, the host only discloses the top 3 performers each month, which gives us enough info (+NPD insights) to extrapolate those ranges.

Switch has outsold X360 and soon to pass ps3.

Thread would probably get more traffic if we included "Switch passes Xbox 360" in the title. ;)

Another one bites the dust and all Xbox systems now overtaken; next up Switch passes its first Playstation home console, and it won't be the last.

PS3 is next. Passing the Wii might happen at the end of the year, but will almost surely happen next year.

At the current rate of closure it should pass PS3 in four more weeks, though since the numbers are delayed it'll overtake in about 2 weeks in real time.

It goes without saying, but yes, the Nintendo Switch has officially surpassed the Xbox 360 for 8th place on the All Time Video Game Console Sales List. It now sets its sights on the PlayStation 3, which it should be able to surpass in 4 weeks of data-time as @curl-6 pointed out.

It's also worth mentioning that the Switch has now surpassed 20 million units sold in Japan, clocking in at 20.02 million units in that region, which puts it past the PSP in Japan (20.01 million), moving into 7th place all time in Japan and now setting its sights on the PS1. (21.59 million)
