Forums - Nintendo Discussion - 4k Switch just the beginning - 45 million units sold next FY

So according to insiders we can expect an 4k Switch, because the current incarnation of the Switch does not really compete with the Series X/S and PS5 and these would be a reason for an improved Switch on top of that 4k and 8k Tvs becoming commonplace is also playing a role.
To support this model Nintendo would have to develop games scaling for both devices.

but lets take that scaling a bit further, why not a sidegrade into a miniswitch ( instead of a downgrade the Lite is ... )
With a dataplan and mobile appstore with an additional option for camera and calling capabilities.

meaning they go back to 3 pillars and bring the blue ocean vision back into play
so smashing 30 million units made yearly and they will cross the 45 million mark next year

250 million bare minimum!

I want a 4 inch screen Switch that can fit into my micropocket inside my short's right pocket. Needs to be 16k, 240 fps, 3times more depth of glasses-less 3d tech that the 3ds had, have an oled display, and cross compatible with Ouya games or we march from Missouri to Kyoto (through Canada, Alaska, Russia, then get a boat to Japan from mainland Asia) and peacefully protest for 3.5 hours.

Nintendo with the Switch:

It won't be 4k native.

No one wants to make a phone call on their dedicated gaming device. Ask the Nokia NGage taco phone how well it fared.

Mobile gaming is the largest gaming market... And that is dominated by mobile phones.

Which is something Nintendo desperately wants to do

They don't give a shit. They stopped giving a shit since the failure of GameCube.

Best understanding I have of the new model is that the dock is 4K compatible so it will play a bit nicer with 4K screens.
Actual specs look like being 15-20% better at the same battery life of better battery model.
So knock a couple of seconds off long loading times, slightly better resolution in some games. Less frame rate drops in others.
With the ability to handle 4K youtube. OLED screen would be nice if true too.

It’s more of an Xbox One to Xbox One S upgrade that replaces the old model and bumps up sales and gets the sale price back up to RRP without completely destroying the value prospect of the old models.
