Making first party titles is a good thing, they did it for 2 years then stopped. They stopped because it wasn't selling well apparently, and it wasn't selling well because of bad price and bad business practices. Having bad support only gave people another reason not to buy.

I repeat too:

$250 vita is just a bait and switch, the true price for vita is definitely $300 or more. At least with Sony's original strategy, people would believe vita only cost $250 at lauch, that's why they even got a vita, and Sony could get a bit of profit. Pricing the proprietary cards so cheaply wouldn't help, the software situation for vita could still remain the same, hence the hardware sales wouldn't be much better, and yet Sony had to take a loss with every vita sold.

The design for the PS Vita is fundamentally bad business practice. Requiring the expensive proprietary cards should never have been a thing, it would've been possible to produce a vita that wasn't as overdesigned, they went with a no compromises approach, that's what screwed them, if they had made compromises on the hardware, the price would've been more attractive. A better memory management system being more consumer friendly etc all could've made more people buy it and then buy more games.

Do you believe the Vita failed simply because it existed? I'm not too sure where you stand with that?

No, if anthing, vita hardware design is very good, except the lack of R2/L2.

It failed mostly because it's software, without big 3rd party games, Sony 1st party games alone are never system seller like Nintendo 1st party games. Without 3rd party, only Nintendo can survive, the other twos can't.

No, if anthing, vita hardware design is very good, except the lack of R2/L2.

And as already said sales were low cause hardware sales were low because of a situation they put themselves in by having it at a high price and overprice proprietary memory solution.

Also no, if there was a playstation portable with a dedicated spiderman, ratchet and clank, god of war gran turismo, naughty dog game(at least we got that), bloodborne-ish game, infamous game etc etc. With a competitive price and consumer friendly storage solutions. And it still failed you'd have a point. But that didn't happen

Nintendo big games can easiily sell 10-15mil or more at full $60 even after 3-4 years, can't say that for sony games, and the best selling games on sony systems are never sony games. Just look at the top selling games on ps4 then compare it to Switch or 3ds, you will understand.

That is all completely irrelevant. PS4 Showed how influential and important first party Sony titles are, and they all sold really damn well.
