I can see the appeal to certain customers, but not for me. For someone married, workinf full time, and limited hrs to game a day, I only play games that I really want to, and I would buy the physical copy, unless some really cool indie title drops on the store. But even if I had all day to play, I feel having near unlimited access to games for a fee, might slightly hinder the gaming experience. Example, instead of going for platinum or achievements and getting more out of a game, by the time the game near ends, I will be quickly thinking about what game to play next, since there is an abudance just there and i'm paying.  Or I might give up an hr into the game, and try look for something better instead of sticking with the game and possibly enjoying it/loving it, and never go back to it, or end up with several games i'm playing but never finishing them.

So i'm happy with the current model. Buy a game you really want , you physcially own, play the most out of it, then move on when the game interests you, on launch.

Not a dig at your post, it is a good answer as to why it is not for you.  The bolded just reminded me of another reason why gamepass is great for me, also being married with kids working a full time job.

When I got my Series X, I gave my son my X1.  As an Ultimate member, I keep my account on both consoles.  This allows us to both use my single gamepass subscription, and prevents me from paying twice for a game we want to play together.  For example, we both just downloaded MLB The Show 21 and are currently looking to play online together without paying anything more than I already am.  So instead of paying 140 bucks to make that happen, I am only paying 15 for that month if we play literally nothing else from the service (without factoring MS rewards).

Again not a dig, just a different perspective from someone in the same boat.

Hmmm saved me an incredible amount of money AND I can play new releases earlier than if I had waited for them to drop low enough in price.
Not sure how that's not a win-win.

I'm a collector, yet ownership isn't really that important to me. I have lots of stuff on my shelves but once I finish a game I never come back to it. Why would I? I saw everything there is to see in that game. I have more than enough other games to play and if I really feel the need to play them again, chances are they will see an improved remaster or remake one or two generations later. Might as well play these versions then.

Would've killed for a service like this back when I was a kid. I had maybe about 20 games or so for each PS1 and OG Xbox. And compared to other kids, that was already a lot.

But there's millions of people who think GamePass has plenty to offer.

Yes it's a great bonus to PC users, definitly.

As long as they're optional I'm totally fine with them. They can be a cheap easy way to get into some new games. Although I do stress the optional part, because for the games I really like I want to pay once and own them. I am definitely not ok with losing access to games because I don't want to pay a subscription fee for the rest of my life.

You can buy games on game pass for either the cheapest price available or a discount.

I have game pass and the value it brings is insane $10 a month for 100+ games and all upcoming Xbox games on day one which includes Bethesda and some third-party games.

The big announced upcoming Xbox Game Studios made games are Halo Infinite, possibly Starfield, Perfect Dark, Everwild, Hellblade 2.

I wasn't attacking gamepass if that's what you think. I didn't even mention it. Was just saying what I like/don't like.

Just said something more that could interest you about subscription services as you can buy a game before you unsubscribe and continue playing it without the subscription. I didn't think you were attacking game pass.

So it's already an insane value even if you know pretty much nothing about those games ?
