Weekly Update 04/14/2025.

Anime Watched and Completed
-My Happy Marriage 2nd Season - pretty decent second season, Netflix didnt have the last two eps so had to watch it another way
-Cocoon: Aru Natsu no Shoujo-tachi yori - nice studio ghibli spinoff studio special, could easily tie it together with Grave of the Fireflies which I plan to watch soon

Movies watched and completed
-Mufasa The Lion King (Disney Plus) - actually enjoyed this far more than I thought I would, the story and premise were actually good and it filled lore between Mufasa and his brother Scar. Also paved way for a potential live action Lion King II sequel which now I hope they make it.

Started watching

TV
-Devil May Cry (2025) (Netflix) - two episodes so far, reminds me of the boondocks in terms of character designs for the generic characters alongside the animation style

New anime season means a lot of new anime

Anime
-From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman: My Hotshot Disciples Are All Grown Up Now, and They Won’t Leave Me Alone - decent enough, apparently what I looked up, its not a Harem anime thankfully, could easily be seen as a spinoff to Jobless Reincarnation which I think is made by the same studio
-Go! Go! Loser Ranger! 2nd season - highly anticipated, couldnt wait to start this
-Koisuru One Piece - parody of One Piece
-Lazarus - love the vibe of this, feels like a modern Cowboy Bebop
-Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX (Amazon Prime) - not sure how much I'm gonna like this, didnt like Witch of Mercury and this looks kinda worse due in part to art style and character design.
-My Hero Academia: Vigilantes - spinoff prequel to the main series, I like it so far
-Witch Watch (Netflix) - a decent palette cleanser comedy

More Mr. Bean.

Just finished watching the mini series Adolescence. So well written and acted. Cant say much more. Am a bit of a mess right now.

Indie animation keeps on growing.

Inspired stuff.

Just finished "1923" finale last night. It's still well made and acted, but it felt rushed and contrived compared to the buildup (16-episode storylines are resolved in a matter of minutes). I still really enjoyed the show, but I can't fathom how the finale has a 9.4 average on IMDB.

Waiting for "Yellowjackets" season 3 finale. Started "Poker Face" last night, only watched one episode but it's promising.

Considering "Gangs of London" or "Piedone" next; from what I can tell these two shows are more or less opposites of one another.

Ever watch Blackadder?

It's a series starring Rowan Atkinson as Blackadder and Tony Robinson (the one from the history documentaries) as Baldrick.

It begins back in medieval times, and each season features a new generation of the characters later on in history. Blackadder starts off a halfwit while Baldrick is intelligent, but each season Blackadder gets more intelligent while Baldrick becomes more of an imbecile.

Co-stars include Stephan Fry and Hugh Laurie.

To think Rowan Atkinson is a genius in real life, but he's best known for playing a complete buffoon.

Also, saw the latest Elsbeth, and I was pleasantly surprised with the ending. *theme from The Punisher plays in the background*

Just finished that a few hours ago. The acting was so impressive to me. That final shot with the dad made me tear up. I've only felt that much emotion from watching a show out movie a few times in my life.

The son was great in both of his episodes, as well as the woman who played the therapist in ep 3. Each episode being a single shot was distracting at first because I was just focused on how impressive it was, but it really did add to the show. I can't recommend this show enough to anyone who's reading this.

I like it when my mom goes out of town because I get to sleep on her side of the bed. -William Montgomery

Currently watching Werewolves to see if it's as bad as it sounds.

Fargo is my current show. I literally just bought it before it went up on streaming. But that’s alright. I’m a big fan of the series, and I’ve watched the first three seasons before, multiple times. Interesting enough, multiple celebrity couples got together on that show:
Season 2, Jesse Plemons and Kirsten Dunst played a married couple, ended up with of ether and married in real life.
Season 3, Ewan Mcgreggor and Mary Elizabeth Winstead played a couple, and the two got married in real life as well.

Both couples were married in 2022, about three months apart.
