Ralph Bakshi's The Lord of the Rings: Cool to see the influences it had on Peter Jackson's work. I was surprised at some of the corners they cut with the animation but it had its charm in a janky sort of way. I don't think I'll ever get over how they drew Sam and Legolas in this film, lol.

Ralph Bakshi's movies use a lot of rotoscoping for their animation. Look at certain battle scenes in his 1975 dark fantasy epic Wizards.

Got to see an early screening of Mortal Kombat 2 and it was great. I really enjoy the first movie, but I know people had some issues with it. They seem to have listened to those and I think it will be more liked than the first one. Just brutal and bloody fun.

The Woody Woodpecker Show. It's nice that there's an official YouTube Channel for Woody Woodpecker that uploads his cartoons for free.

Take a hint, Warner Bros., and to an extent Paramount.

Bubblegum Crisis. Megazone 23 and Heavy Metal L Gaim.

Just for fun Sharing 2 songs. Some amazing music. Konwa Hurricane from BB and the theme from L Gaim.

Bite my shiny metal cockpit!

Caught up on a lot recently.

Daredevil: Born Again S2: I'm liking the transformative stakes that Born Again is dealing with. I thought the action was lacking last season but this time around it's back to form, too!

Punisher: One Last Kill: Disappointing and poorly paced. Bernthal's Punisher continues to be better in Daredevil than he is in his own productions.

Mortal Kombat 2: About as meh as the last film. More fights and game references but none of it leaves a lasting impression.

The Sheep Detectives: A cute, sweet murder mystery that the whole family can enjoy. I genuinely got choked up a bit at the end.

Maul: Shadow Lord: Best SW entry since Andor. The whole production just oozes style in a way that I haven't seen since the early days of The Mandalorian.

The Boys S5: Some moments were better than others, but over all it's a satisfying end to a great series. I think we should consider ourselves lucky that we got a five season (seven if you count Gen V) deconstructive superhero show of such consistent quality. Lord knows it stuck the landing better than a lot of other big series.

If only a certain someone's downfall could be this satisfying, but I guess that's the difference between fiction and reality...

Reality is worse than fiction.

Watching the season finale of Ghosts, which speaks to me because it's about how data centres shouldn't fucking exist. All they do is screw everyone over, even the rich pedophiles who build them in the first place.

Went to see obsession. I have watched horror movies my entire life pretty much and not much affects me anymore, but this one creeped me out several times. The girl who plays Nikki in this is incredible. Havent seen a creepy woman like that since Kathy Bates in Misery. Everyone is good in it though and its really well made. It just completely lives up to the premise. Which is kinda rare these days, but becoming better thanks to a lot of Youtubers turned Directors surprisingly enough. Highly recommended if you like horror movies. If you dont, then dont watch this one.

My wife and I picked a couple random movies to watch on Hulu and both picks were good, one of them surprisingly good.

Code 3 - I do not recall seeing a movie about EMTs before. Once upon a time in my 20s I got my EMT-B level certification. I knew that the way I view personal responsibility is a little beyond the average. One call involving a kid was enough to know that if I entered the field I would second guess every hopeless situation and probably end my career with a shotgun in my mouth. My mother-in-law at the time was an EMT in a smallish city so I had heard stories.

All that sets up my opinion that while Code 3 does not involve suicide but instead was somewhat of a dark comedy, it was a fairly accurate accounting. It was well acted by Rainn Wilson who I am used to straight comedy out of and nothing as serious as this. The story is nothing fantastical more a 'day in the life of' but it was good. Knowing nothing of the film and watching the preview I expected that the preview showed all 5 funny parts and was not expecting much let alone poignancy. Perhaps this film will not hit people without a background or knowledge of the EMT trade the same way it hit me but ... I've been wrong lots of times before.

The other show we watched was Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice. I am not a big fan of Vince Vaughn but I do like James Marsden and Keith David. The premise looked interesting and the acting around Vaughn (and even his acting) had me going into the movie thinking it could be my favorite Vince Vaughn movie. Although it was not a high bar to clear, Vaughn wise, the movie managed to clear it. It was worth the time spent viewing this time travel action film.
