Forums - Sales Discussion - Global Hardware Feb 7-13 - Super Mario 3D World Pushes Switch Sales Above 400,000

2021 NSW continues to build its lead over 2020 (+28% YTD) and maintain #1 spot for first 6 weeks.

VGC Q1 record is 07 NDS at 5,424K, followed by 20 NSW 5,119K.  If they can hold up supply till March, MHR might help get it past the 5,500K mark this year.

Hopefully Sony fixes their god awful stock issue.

400k - impressive. I'm glad to be one of those who contributed to that. Also nice to see Series X selling more than 100k for the second week in a row. It's off to a good start for now. Just needs to keep the momentum going

PS5 and Xbox Series X|S are way up compared to PS4 and Xbox One during the same week in 2014.

PS5 - 214,903

PS4 - 136,500

Xbox Series X|S - 114,711

Xbox One - 66,888

Seeing both of them be up around 40% is really nice and with the Switch up 50% video game hardware sales are doing extremely well right now and this is even with the new consoles having issues satisfying demand currently.

PS5 and XSX aren't that bad now, it's just that Switch is doing record breaking numbers and they are being compared to it. Switch might have the best Q1 ever this year...

The industry as a whole is growing.

Solid sales all around.

If we were to apply the same reasoning to the PS5/XSX as some people have applied to the Switch, they are only doing well because of COVID

Damn son!  I didn't realize Switch was on track so far to have the best Q1.  2007 DS even had an incredible week 6, but NSW is still a bit ahead overall.  Switch is also way above what it was doing last year at this time.  We all know that the Animal Crossing + COVID boost is coming in March, but this year has Monster Hunter and a stronger software lineup overall.  2021 is definitely going to be another big year.
