Forums - Sales Discussion - Okami sold more on Switch than PC, PS3, PS4, and Xbox One. What other third parties have performed best on Switch?

Title says it all folks! This is mostly a curiosity for me, as Nintendo consoles third party sales have historically been rather poor in comparison to other consoles. However, the Capcom leak exposed some interesting sales data for Okami HD. Sales for the consoles were as follows:

Switch – 600,000
PC – 536,000
PS3 – 529,000
PS4 – 445,000
Xbox One – 121,000

What other games do we have confirmation of that have performed best on Switch, and what games do you predict have performed best on Switch? I know of several indie games, but I'd prefer to keep this about more "major" third parties (i.e. major IP's or major third party studios/publishers).

Okami did far better on Playstation than on SW. Almost twice as better. Plenty of other third parties see similar performance of Playstation being far greater than Nintendo.

It did better on both PS consoles combined, but obviously the OP is talking about in terms of individual platforms.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

Not to mention the PS3 and PS4 releases were five years apart.

I think that this is a very weird spin, no offense. It's almost like you think this is a Playstation vs. Nintendo debate when it's actually a conversation about which third parties have performed well on Switch.

Not anymore spin that your post, which not only uses AND incorrectly, but also fails to take into account that PS4+3 is almost 2x SW. Obviously, many that bought it on PS3 will not get it again on PS4.

If the point of the thread was which third parties did well on SW, why did you not just name it that?

What’s your obsession to state that certain games sold better on PS compared to Switch? There have been recent cases of the vice versa in Japan as well. It’s like you’re trying to discourage third party devs to not support Switch for some reason, even though it can only be beneficial if the ROI is potentially good. Even CD Projekt Red said Witcher 3 on Switch brought in some good revenue. Consumers are not expecting something like Cyberpunk 2077, but there are games that could’ve been reasonably ported to Switch but haven’t yet.

Exactly, plus there is already an existing thread on the sales of the game.

Okami HD sales numbers leaked (vgchartz.com)

The game sold best on Playstation, that's just the facts. It's like how Sony disclosed that TLoU part 1 sold over 20 million in sales. Whether it's combined or not it doesn't change the fact of its overall sales numbers. If Nintendo fans can't handle that then tough shit.

There was already a thread about this

How is my post a spin? We have individual platform numbers, of the individual platforms Switch had sold the most. Combining platforms and suggesting the total beats an individual platform is literally a way for you to spin it in a direction you would prefer (e.g. playstation beats nintendo). Like, I even included all other platforms (PC, and Xbox) to discuss this.

I didn't use "and" incorrectly. I'm not sure how you think I did.

"If the point of the thread was which third parties did well on SW, why did you not just name it that?"

Here is part of the question that asks exactly that: "What other third parties have performed best on Switch?".
