1st bold: Switch outsold Switch Lite like nothing.

2nd bold: i guess PSVR will never be big and never have a bright future for Sony.

3rd bold: Ring Fit Adventure says hello.

At 2nd bold:

I'm sure it can be seen as a financial success, however, I'm also sure it will remain niche. Until a miraculous $199 wireless headset can release, I think all VR will remain niche.

Still, motion controls by themselves have pretty much died. Have to advertise them as exercise equipment to see any kind of success.

So PSVR will die, sooner or later, got it.

Around the Network

Not chummy, but civil as far as fierce competitors go.

The PS4 era to the present (and maybe a little before) has shown that Sony and Nintendo have moved on past some of their contempt for each other. They've thrown each other the occasional PR congratulations, and the executives don't tend to talk trash about each other.

Lifetime Sales Predictions

Switch: 161 million (was 73 million, then 96 million, then 113 million, then 125 million, then 144 million, then 151 million, then 156 million)

PS5: 122 million (was 105 million, then 115 million) Xbox Series X/S: 38 million (was 60 million, then 67 million, then 57 million. then 48 million. then 40 million)

Switch 2: 120 million (was 116 million)

PS4: 120 mil (was 100 then 130 million, then 122 million) Xbox One: 51 mil (was 50 then 55 mil)

3DS: 75.5 mil (was 73, then 77 million)

Is there a relationship? I'd say it's non-existent. I guess they do congratulate each other on product launches but that's about it.

Microsoft and Nintendo have a friendly but still restrained relationship.

Japan gave up on dedicated home consoles a long time ago, even the Wii did not sell all that great there it got outsold by the PSP.

There's only 4 home console (only) systems in Japan as far as I know that have sold 15+ million in Japan ... Famicom, Super Famicom, Playstation 1, Playstation 2, and that's it. PS2 being the last one that launched 20 years ago.

I like to think they have a relationship like Vince McMahon and Donald Trump. Both filthy rich and laughing their way to the banks.
