Where were you, when Darashiva gave this hint, he meant Okami. I do not.

So that's half of point for me? Right?

I got already Darashivas point for guessing Okami, so you're too late.

Ni No Kuni then.

And 31 is Majora's Mask.

Ni no Kuni is wrong too.

But you are right about Majoras Mask. Obviously, with your avatar. I think you guessed MM in the past years too.

Time for a batch of new hints:

#34: Final Fantasy X guessed by The_Liquid_Laser

#33
Fourth entry in this cel-shaded turn-based tactics series about war.

#32
Water color in motion.

#31: Majoras Mask guessed by S.Peelman
This time your adversary isn't some reborn evil like in most other games in the series, but a child playing pranks and getting into something dark.

33. Valkyria Chronicles 4?

32. Valkyria Chronicles 1?

Age of Mythology

  • Windows PC
  • 2003
  • Guessed by Jpcc86

This game is actually a glorified test run of a new engine that was going to be used in the development of Age of Empires III. That's really underselling it though because coming from one of the greatest, if not the greatest, RTS dev-studios that ever existed, this is an amazing strategy game in it's own right.

There aren't that many games in the genre that I liked enough to play for an extended period of time, but when this happens it happens good. For a few years this was a regular play at LAN parties between my family and some friends. Every few years I actually feel the need to reinstall it to give another go.

The great thing about it is the variety between factions. There's, including the expansion pack, a modest four, but they all have a huge variety due to the way tech advancements work where every time you get the choice to pick one of three gods that each give unique perks, after choosing one of three main ones before the start of a game.

Wolfenstein 3D

  • Mac OS
  • 1994
  • Guessed by Jpcc86

A legendary game, which pretty much single-handedly invented the first-person shooter genre. I think everyone knows this game. Though I think not the first shooter game I ever played, that was probably Dark Forces, it's not far off.

It is also certainly very memorable, and timeless. This is as fun to play now as it was back in the 90s. And that's in spite of its archaic gameplay mechanics and control. In this game, the ability of looking up and down for example hadn't been invented yet.

This is, especially for a game this age, actually fairly long game, especially when including the expansions. I never beat it, because with my young age I wasn't allowed to play it that much, and later on I could only play it every once in a while because I was busy with other things and this got old. But hey, I guess that's life.

Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock

  • Sony PlayStation 3
  • 2007
  • Guessed by Runa216

The seventh generation of video games feels like it was actually two generations. The first part, was all about Guitar Hero. I played this, a lot. Like really a lot. The first in the series I played was this game, and stayed with it until the game went on hiatus after sales declined with each new entry.

The songlists make these games, and in each game I like some and don't like some. Some games have a better ratio than others, and because they're all similar, I feel I can only include one in the list. Guitar Hero III has a good ratio, in fact better than most, since later games got more and more pop-y, and since it's the first one I played, this is the one that deserves to be included the most.

37

Super Metroid

  • Super Nintendo Entertainment System
  • 1994
  • Unguessed

One of the most 'mature' games Nintendo has ever made, and also one of the most influential. Even if it wasn't really in its volume of sales. 'Mature' of course is a vague term; it's not mature in the sense that there's big guns and grey-brownish color pallets, it's mature in the fact that it makes the player think.

The game world is a maze, a series of varied areas strung together to form a seamless universe. The game takes you all over all through the game, and new items and weapons keep opening up new areas and take you back to ones you've been to before. All in all you're happy to finally stumble upon a save room where you can rest easy knowing you don't have to find your way again.

I played the game once when it was new(-ish) on my aunt's SNES, but forgot about it's existence for the next two decades. Until on 3DS I was given another Metroid game because of the ambassador's program, and I figured I might as well get this one on WiiU as well. Obviously five Euro well spent.

Rome: Total War

  • Windows PC
  • 2004
  • Guessed by Mnementh

A timeless game, still great even after the release of its successor. In fact, if my list is to be believed, even still slightly better. This is because it's so well polished, balanced and to the point. It has many features, and they work well and they all add to the other.

Even mores than the successor, it is a relaxing game, and during later stages in the game I could take an hour for a single turn. It's like a chess match where you think about the next move. I can't play chess, but that's beside the point.

The game starts during the Republican era, when technology and military advancements are still a bit primitive. It gets interesting when you near the Imperial era, and military reforms take place. Then you'll get the units capable of conquering the world, and if you play your cards right the point comes when none can stop your might. You can also play as other factions, barbarian factions or Carthage for example. But who cares; the game's called "Rome" for a reason.

Gah I remembered wrong. It's Child of Light then.

And yeah probably lol, maybe I have an antenna for MM.

Alright next batch.

35: Ya Ya Ya Ya Yaa!

34: This peculiar game oozes pop culture references in its minor vehicles.

33: The Expanded Universe was great. A treasure trove of cool stories and of course video games. This game was the start of a subseries consisting of the game, obviously, and comic books.

32: This game and its only successor is heavily inspired by a famous series of spy movies. So much so, that the creators changed their male protagonist to a female, because they were afraid of getting accused of ripping it off.

31: Most games in this series feature game worlds that are a maze, a series of varied areas strung together to form a seamless universe, but not this one. This one more story oriented and therefore more linear than usual.

I forgot to update the last days... well, here it is now:

#48: One of the later games for the Neo-Geo, but also one of the best - and certainly the best of it's series

Metal Slug X, sadly nobody found it out...

#41: Greetings, Warlord! Let the war begin!

Warlords 2 Deluxe; Mnementh was close to the answer

#40: A very unusual RTS in space, where you start with a small capital ship and 3 planets to govern, but the map (and thus the number of planets to govern) and fleet grows at specific points in the story when you reach a new rank.

Hint #1: You start this game with your main planet almost in ruins, with most buildings massively damaged.

Hint #2: The Alien factions make war independently from you, even way before you have even the rank and thus ability to contact them, quite possibly eliminating some races before you ever had the chance to meet them.

Hint #3: Your quarters are on your main capital ship, and you can move around there when not looking at the sector map.

#38: A PC-exclusive Pinball game with a horror theme.

Hint #1: Tables are a haunted Castle, a Dungeon, and Frankenstein's Laboratory, complete with the Monster in it's center.

Hint #2: It's the second game in that specific series, 3 more were to follow

#37: Bring your console-making back from the brink of death by hiring 2 kids and beat your programmers into submission in RPG-like combats.

Hint #1: This game came out shortly before the company making it stopped making consoles for good, making the premise highly ironic.

Hint #2: While most of the game is for the most part an RPG mixed with a tycoon game, the finale goes straight to Shmup, where you have to fight several iterations of Sega consoles.

#32: Hire some Mercs to support a group of rebels to defeat the evil queen of the country.

#31: The first, and to date still only Videogame to have won a Grammy for it's soundtrack. Civilization IV, @TruckOSaurus won the award for the best guess

#30: Capitalism, ho!

33: Knight of the Old Repubic?

32: Damn, the name is on the tip of my tongue. I know the heroine is called Kate Archer, is set in the 70's and everybody is dressed the part - but I can't find the name of the game! Edit: No One Loves Forever!

Yes, it's a really great rendition. Did you know it's actually nothing else than the lord's prayer, just in swahili?

I didn't gave the name away just yet, wanted to sue it with the first hint - but turned out, no hints needed!
