Time to give more hints.  No one was able to guess my #13 which was Shining Force 2.

6. Dragons and Titans are OP in this game, but that is one reason why I like it.

Horizon Zero Dawn (PS4)

Horizon Zero Dawn is another game on this list I need to replay at some point in the near future, because I feel like it might end up rising even higher after a second playthrough. It is the best open world game I've ever played, as well as the best game released during the extremely stacked 2017 (I have 5 games from 2017 on my list). This title also pushed the developer Guerrilla Games from a good studio to among the best in the whole medium in my eyes. 

I love the world, the story and lore, the gameplay, the gorgeous visuals and music, and the characters, especially Aloy who is easily among my favourite video game leads ever. I really can't think of any aspect of Horizon I didn't like. The wide variety of different locations, the wonderful way the various different groups are represented and differentiated from one another, and a huge number of other small touches make this an exceptional game as far as I'm concerned. The best game of 2017, and once I do go back for that second playthrough, possibly in the top three for the entire generation.
