Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Microsoft: Xbox Series S and X only next-gen consoles with full RDNA 2 feature set

Yes well if that are the post you were making the fuss about, then i dont know what to tell you but the following:
If/rumor/likely none of these present anything as fact. If this is your evidence you really need to try harder. This is what i suspect with your blanket statement you tried to spin a narrative that these people claimed factually that it was confirmed 100% to be 1.5 whatever that entails. I called you out on it and you tried to attack me on the person.

Sales & Shikamaru had many posts pushing this "rumor," which many agreed with, and attempted to prove this to be a fact through multiple posts using "evidence" from all kinds of sources. Why go through all that trouble debating or citing different sources if they believed it was a rumor? Most users who do this want to prove their point.

Did your revisiting disprove anything tho?

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

I've been seeing this rumor running around online for a while now, but these are the things that you cannot mention in here bcuz it is considered "console war,"
But anyway, my suspicions that the rumor might've been true started when MS kept mentioning DirectML while Sony did not. I'm really intrigued to see how this feature will be utilized in the future. The most logical thing would be to use it to implement its own version of DLSS.

Apparently Sony not advertising buzzwords is proof they don't have full RDNA2.

Lol, are we still fighting over this? Damn..!

Look, at this point it seems obvious to me that 3rd party developers will try to go for parity in their games as much as possible. I don't think any developer wants to have a bunch of ultra-passionate fans acussing them with conspiracy theories every time a game run worse in their platform of choice (which could also hurt sales). In fact, I'm a bit surprised to see that many devs have decided to go for a higher resolution on the Series X.

1. I’m not Kirby, nor are you. What you or I find illogical may not be illogical to him.

2. The posts are all here in the thread. Instead of being vague, just point to the posts you’d like Kirby to address and maybe he will.

1. Arguing against information provided from the Playstation channel is as illogical as it can get. That's like me doubting Nintendo's software sales and saying it isn't illogical to do so. Both are clear cut examples where official sources confirm these as facts.

2. Bumping this thread is enough to call people out. We can all read these posts, we have enough hindsight at our disposal (AMD announcement, PS5 teardown, DF comparisons, etc) to see these takes fall flat. But hey, if he wants me to point out these posts, I'll do so if he can tell me why they are/aren't illogical.

1. Not at all. Even official sources are wrong at times or misrepresent the truth. Didn’t we have loads of Sony users on this site shitting on MS because they planned to support cross gen after launch while Sony’s official stance was “we support generations” with “PS5 exclusives” like GoW2, GT7, Horizon 2, etc. How did all of that nonsense turn out? Also aren’t you in this very thread talking about buzzwords and MS marketing in a negative way? Seems you can’t really take these official sources at face value.

2. You’re a little early to be claiming any sort of victory in regards to a lot of the stuff said in this thread.

Should I watch this Skyrim comparison video? It seems to have reignited console warriors for some reason.

1. Many Playstation fans dumped on Microsoft for cross gen, like they did when Sony did the same thing, myself included. Seems like the only pushback on cross generation development came from Playstation fans. Also, Sony's stance on generations was more than just PS5 exclusives, such as the Dualsense, 3D Audio, SSD, etc, having cross gen titles isn't misrepresenting the truth, its just taking their statement out of context. Official sources are still the most credible information you could get about these products. Regarding Microsoft's marketing, I made the distinction like many others, of custom RDNA2 versus full RDNA2. Where did I talk about their marketing in a negative way?

2. Claiming victory over what? I didn't make any ridiculous claims regarding the power difference with both consoles that make this thread a goldmine. Some of these posts that are trying to prove RDNA 1.5 aged like milk.

I don't know why you're pretending like you're not some console warrior either. C'mon now.

Now it's getting harder and harder to prove a clear hardware advantage over PS5. Wouldn't you say this is a victory against MS PR?

At least most people would have expected a 20 percent Pixel increase.

I'm still curious to find out what GPU tech AMD took from PS and what GPU's it's (to be) used in. If that's ever explained or becomes obvious that is.

Cerny was pretty smirky about that. If PS tech is so much worse than what AMD itself can offer, then why would AMD use PS tech in their GPU's?

1. Of course people backpedaled after Sony revealed their real plan. That doesn't change the fact that multiple "official channels" communicated information that was flat out wrong. Not going to say they lied or deliberately mislead, could have been miscommunication, changing strategy, etc. But the information was wrong.

2. Oh, you aren't claiming any sort of victory? You didn't bump an old thread to try and gloat that some people were maybe wrong in your opinion? "terrible takes", etc etc. What are we doing here, then?

Is it getting harder and harder to find a clear advantage? What do you define as a clear advantage? The consoles have been out for a year. The only thing that might make finding a clear advantage difficult is that every developer prioritizes different things. In most cases developers are pushing the XSX versions with more pixels with no regard for small frame hiccups because of VRR. Is this a clear advantage? In the Skyrim thread you're going on and on about a 2 second or less load difference being the deciding factor.
