Square Enix later removed that mention. It has been clarified that the game will be PlayStation 5 exclusive for the first 6 months, after which it can come out on non console platforms (obviously PC). It will remain a PS5 console exclusive for 12 months, after which it can release on other consoles.

Also missing: timed exclusive.
I just checked the source and it says nothing about 2021. Maybe they changed it.
It says: "It's official: Final Fantasy 16 is coming soon and it's only on PS5."
Let's hope so. I thought I saw 2021 in the title of the reveal trailer, so I already expected this.
Can't wait to get it as an EGS exclusive in 2022.

No surprise here. Exactly what I was expecting. The game HAS been in development for since 2016.

Yeah, it just says "coming soon", which means it could come out in 2021, but we can't really say it's confirmed.
