This is an extremely early prediction that will likely change as the gen moves on. If the market for PS/XB holds at ~170m

I give it

PS5- 105m NA 35m EU+others 60m JP 10m
XB- 65m NA- 33 EU+others 30m JP 2m

I would be curious about others regional predictions.

An increase in the market would obviously lead to different predictions.

those Japan numbers huuuuuuuuuum, i can see you are rouding the numbers but PS5 won't beat PS4, which should stop at 9.5m in Japan. Probabily around 8m

Also you expect XBS to become the biggest system of all time for MS, above the 1.7m of the 360 and doing x20 times better than XBO which barely did 100k.

I have no idea what XBS will sell but i don't see a big increase over XBO

60 - 70 Million.

This is a hard one to predict because I have a feeling that Xbox are maybe going for a more fluid increase in power by making several "mid-gen" upgrades, so the "Xbox Series" as a whole might end up lasting longer than the regular console lifespan.

But if we assume that I'm completely wrong and that this'll just be a regular 7 year console then I would expect it sell around 60 million (though that might still include one or two models other than X and S released within that timeframe).

Nintendo | PlayStation | Multiplat

70-80 million (so 70-79 in the poll). Basically, it will end up around where the 3DS/PSP are. Of course if this ends up being the first generation where consoles just become phones and get multiple models that extent their life to being nearly endless, as opposed to mid-gen upgrades then that will be a different story.

NA PS5: 36m XBS: 36m

EU PS5: 42m XBS: 18m

Japan PS5: 10m XBS: 1m

ROTW PS5: 16m XBS: 10m

50 million. Still only going to appeal to NA and a few other markets. Europe and Japan I still think are not going to do well at all.

Around 75M is my guess.

XSX/XSS are much more appealing then XBO was this gen and Microsoft didn't hit any major marketing snags like they did before the release of the XBO. And with their recent acquisitions, they can get a great lineup of exclusive games later down the road.

However, the brand got damaged too much in several markets to make much of an impact in them, no matter how good they'd do otherwise. Hence why I don't expect them to go much higher than 80M - but 70M also seems like the floor to me with the reception it got so far.

Same could be said for Sony's consoles since more and more of their games are now also available on PC. Yet I doubt you'd say that PS5 will sell less than PS4 did due to this.

One game came to pc. And even then it came 3 years after launch. I think even if more games do come if they still come out way later for pc then there is no issue. Remember that the games come out date and date on the pc and xbox and its absolutly all. Nowhere near the same impact.

I was talking about PS Now, which, also includes Sony exclusives and can be played from a PC.

Same concept. Ps now does not get big releases day and day with the console.

It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.

Not everybody needs their games day 1.

I understand the impact is quite a bit lesser, but you seem to play it up as non-existant, which just isn't true.
