Can everyone help me make a software list for NSW next year. It’s going to be insane.

Off top of my head..... (japan releases)

+++Third Party Confirmed+++

Bravely Default 2
SMTV
MHR
MHS2
Balan Wonderworld
Rune Factory 5
Disgaea 6
No more heroes 3

Well Bravely Default II still has some chance of making it in 2020. Hasn't been officially delayed yet.

I think you got most confirmed third parties outside of indies. For 1st parties 3D World is the only one confirmed. New Pokémon Snap and the BotW Sequel are pretty likely though.

Do you think Switch 2021 will outsell 2020 in Japan?

I think it is possible. New model, assuming price drop on the original model, two MH games, they won't have the stock problems they had this year, and apparently Nintendo is gonna have a really loaded year of first party games, and obviously third party support is getting better and better. If they throw in a couple huge Japan sellers like 2D Mario and Pokemon remake, maybe another Ring Fit game, of course along with BotW2 which isn't a mega seller in Japan but will still be a big title by Japanese standards, I could see Switch perhaps passing 6.5 million next year. I think this year will end up at about 6.5 mil.

I’ve been saying it was a possibility on Resetera for months. And yes or at the very least think 2021>2020 in Q1/Q2/Q3.

i have to see what they do in Q4 cuz it’s a wild card

I think this will be the peak year for Japan unless Nintendo seriously short changes them.  If Switch sells at least 7m this year in Japan, then I'd say it's the peak year.

The region to watch next year is Europe.  Don't be surprised when Europeans discover how great the Switch is and start buying even more next year than this year.

Interesting observation on MH Rise, MH3rd the parallel game to Tri on PSP (last time we had double iterations) had a Samurai like theme to it MH Rise the parallel game to World has a Ninja theme to it.

I remember MH World dominating Amazon Japan.

Rise currently:
#6
#7
#11
#41
#59
#73

Also Generations Ultimate is at #77 with its Best Price edition

Update before COMG numbers are out (in 1h 20min):

Rise:
#2
#5
#11
#24
#82
#99

Also if I got this correctly the lower 3 SKUs (also in the previous list) are double packs. No idea how those will be counted on Famitsu but we shall see.

Both are very traditionally Japanese in their overall aesthetic too, like the village, the shrine map they've shown.

It's also worth noting Portable 3rd is the second highest selling MH game in Japan, or the highest if you could MH4 and MH4 Ultimate separately.

Bet with Liquidlaser: I say PS5 and Xbox Series will sell more than 56 million combined by the end of 2023.

TOP 10 Switch Famitsu 2020 Q3(one week left):

  1. Animal Crossing: New Horizons - 719.533
  2. Ring Fit Adventure - 502.666
  3. Paper Mario: The Origami King - 252.875(new)

The software sales on the Switch will be down from Q2, but Hardware sales will be up considerably. Ring Fit has continued to see growth, while Animal Crossing's bundle discontinuation actually slowed its sales compared to what I expected. There is actually a 3rd Party game in the Top 5 - eBaseball. Finally I think Paper Mario performed below my expectations and isn't showing legs of as of right now.

Always nice to see good data. Are you ready for 2021 when Q1/Q2/Q3 will be up YoY in hardware sales???

Doesn't Phantasy Star Online 2 come out next year?

Also, Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV and an Inazuma eleven game if I remember correctly. Oh, and R-Type Final 2.
