If Nintendo relies on Pikmin and the worst Zelda ever, to holidays, the good pace is will be lost. 

Nintendo needs a good new software for holidays, ports for bad selling games don't do it. 

My fear is Nintendo thinks Zelda SS and Pikmin are a system seller, and not sell well because is on the wrong hardware. It's a lie. Neither is a system seller. My hope Nintendo has some more new games for Q3.

I wasn’t aware they were porting Ocarina of Time to the Switch. :p But seriously, if the Skyward Sword rumor is true, then you’d be a fool to think that won’t do big numbers. It’s Zelda, and if there’s any Zelda game that is in need of an HD remake, it’s Skyward Sword. Still my favorite Zelda game, but being on the Wii in 2011 held it back tremendously technically, graphically, and various other aspects. I will be the first to admit it has its flaws.

Nintendo is laughing to the bank with its easy money from porting damn near all of the Wii U’s library. If that long-rumored 3D Mario collection is true in addition to Skyward Sword and Pikmin 3, that’ll be MORE than enough to carry the momentum through the holiday season and into next year.

Pikmin isn’t a system seller nor does Nintendo or anyone for that matter think it is. It never was. It’s C-tier title meant to fill in a gap in the release schedule. Nothing more. As for Skyward Sword; It’s 3D Zelda. 3D Zelda is most definitely a system seller. But by late 2011, the Wii was over 90 million units sold, long past its prime and on its last leg. It was a dying brand and nothing could save it. Skyward Sword was seen as the Wii’s last hurrah and thanks to that game, it had one last big holiday season before everyone moved on.

At the moment, the Switch is selling largely on itself and the library its already built. That evergreen strength is very real. Animal Crossing has turned into the biggest killer app since Wii Sports. MK8D (a port) is still pulling monstrous numbers and is on the verge of passing MKWii. And the hybrid concept has proven to be a grand slam and, unlike motion controls, won’t be so easily replicated and isn’t a fad that will go out of style when people get bored with it. It’s here to stay. Even if Pikmin 3 is all they have, (which I highly doubt it is), holiday sales are going to be as strong as they have been, if not stronger, depending on stock.

Say what? The Switch haven't got its price drop and will surpass the 3DS in 2021 or 2022. The games have also broken their own records on the Switch. There is a reason why the people who talk shit about the Switch are no longer on this site.

Wrong, and wrong.

Switch is massively outpacing the 3DS, and plenty of us use it as a home console. Mine never leaves its dock, and to me its a better home console than either PS4 or Xbox One.
