Forums - Microsoft - Official Xbox July Showcase 2020 thread

What I got to see was cool. I f-ing got stormed by customers and only got to catch about 20 minutes of the main event. I will have to try to watch again after work. Damn people trying to give me their money.

...to avoid getting banned for inactivity, I may have to resort to comments that are of a lower overall quality and or beneath my moral standards.

wow that diversity. Shooter, shooter, shooter, adventure, shooter, adventure, adventure, shooter...

This is just not good enough. Half of the games they showed are releasing before the Series X ffs.

I understand not giving us a price, but why so secretive about the release date? We know its holiday, so just give us the date. Its not like people will go "OMG November 17th? They are doomed. That date is not acceptable!"

Thought they had learned from the XB1, but I guess not...

In Summary

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

it was very lame. And considering how M$ was hyping Halo; I suppose what they showed was XBOX ONE X gameplay; if not.....as always M$ overhyping things.

Can you say “M$” once more?

I have no affinity for Xbox but damn, gamers are never satisfied.

Some people here never planned to be satisfied.

Overall, they showed a lot of good stuff. But it was quantity over quality. Halo had the only great overall showcase with gameplay, but it wasn't as long and sweeping as I was hoping. None of the other big titles had any gameplay.

Still a pretty good showing for Xbox though. Probably rate it slightly worse than the Sony one, but the main showcase for PS5 was R&C which is 2-3 years away at best. Halo Infinite is right on our doorstep, which makes a huge difference.

Everwild, Forza 8, Fable, State of Decay 3, Grounded, Psychonauts, Unavowed, Tell Me Why are all shooters, Huh? You learn something new every day.

Been saying it a couple of years now. I expected DQ to finally come to Xbox. They did the wrong thing with Halo. Something been saying a while. Just tacking on an open world is not the solution. That's also something getting old now.  Didn't help Gears much in sales. Didn't see anything in that conference for me. Hmm. Sure the show was fine for Xbox fans but didn't convince me to buy an XSX. No hate. Just wasn't that interesting to me.

There were some performers, horror games.

Most games they showed are releasing around the launch of the Series X or after.

Yep, great showing. Nice diverse selections, platformers, story driven games, shooters, racing, rpgs. Halo Infinite looks like a must have, Fable is an amazing announcement. Warhammer 40K is dope af.

9/10, getting the XSX over PS5 this holiday so far.

We didn't get enough gameplay.

There should have been a vertical slice of The Medium. It's one of the few titles that actually make use of the Xbox Series X hardware without being tethered to the Xbox One. I'm a bit surprised there wasn't any major third party announcements either.
