hope it have portuguese sub, perhaps even dub

Why would you do it?

Because I have a 5 year old son and sometimes he likes to play together or watch. He have almost finished GoW when he was 3.

From Cerny presentation and some Sony speaks the compatibility mode (BC) will give 4k60fps for most titles without need of patch. But sure for better quality we depend on devs.

I'm pretty sure that's not what they said.,but rather that Boost mode will allow this.

I imagine it is game dependant and the results will vary a lot.

But I'm more than willing to be proven wrong of course. 4k60 being possible for most games would of course be fantastic.

And boost mode will basically work for every game.

It probably won't be as robust as the BC solution on MS that will also add HDR. But should improve all games. Sure some devs may also go above and beyond and patch the games for PS5 for even better performance.

I'm sure the PS5 will be powerful enough to run PS4 games at 4k60, but I'd be greatly surprised if it could run games locked to 1080p30 at such without patches for those games. Dynamic resolutions and unlocked/unstable frame rates should be topped up nicely, though.

Well the boost mode was said to work for most of the titles. So I think for the top selling games it will work fine, and even for most games it should also work fine.

Games already struggle to run at 1080 30fps so I really doubt they would be able to run at 4k 60fps.

I really wish they were, but time and time again I have been proven right that developers dont care about performance.

Also consoles, save very rare situations, do not allow for tweaks in settings to make it run better. This is why unfortunately I'm thinking about building a pc.

Actually unlocked performance modes for the pro consoles are increasingly common in the last few years. Considering most have horribly uneven frame rates when in this mode (jumping anywhere inbetween 30-60), the assumption is that it was made to future proof games for PS5/ Xbox series X. God of War & Star Wars Fallen order are 2 titles which immediately come to mind.

Otherwise games running at dynamic resolution which is even more common (especially for 60fps games like Battlefield, COd, Doom) and they will also benefit hugely.

Wow... 3? Youre a good parent.

Of course it's amazing that kids nowadays can play games in their own language, I definitely would have enjoyed so much more games back then if they were in portuguese.

But playing final fantasy 6 and chrono trigger on snes with a portuguese/english dictionary by my side when I was 14y had such an impact on me and my appreciation for the english language that I really dont know if I would be fluent in english when I was 18 if it were not for those non translated games. The same can be said for a lot of my friends.

Yes, but they do not allow you to tweak the performance to your own taste. For example, there is a guy on youtube that somehow was able to unlock the framerate on bloodborne and change the resolution. Turns out if played in 720p the game runs at 60fps 95% of the time.

If this option was available I would definitely run it a 720p, the game looks sooooooooo much better at 60fps.

Or the Ezio collection, it runs at native 4k on PSpro and XBOX but at 1080p it is still locked at 30fps. wtf? if the game can run at native 4k 30fps it should be able to run at 1080p 60fps. But nope...

Dont get me wrong, I hate pc with a passion (I was a pc gamer during the ps2 era) but really... developers just dont care.

Never said that. I said current gen struggle at 1080p 30fps. Mostly of course, sony first party games usually have no trouble.

About what I expected.

Still haven't read any reviews, and probably won't, since I'll play it anyway. But I enjoyed all these games, so hopefully it'll be the same with this one.

I really enjoyed the first 2 Infamous games, how does Second Son compare? I havent played it but lost interest when Cole was no longer in the game.

Pretty solid score and pretty much what I was expecting. Hope it'll sell well

I've preordered it and I can't wait to have a go, but I've got a bad feeling about this game.

God bless You.

My Total Sales prediction for PS4 by the end of 2021: 110m+

When PS4 will hit 100m consoles sold: Before Christmas 2019

It's much more refined but far less interesting and stunted in scope by having checklists cluttered ontop each other with a feeling of minimal map progression, that said it can be fairly fun, especially the core powers. I'd skip it and juat play First light which is a condensed form of it, only loosing a some of the best powers in the series but releasing that stunted progression feel and clutter. Also, but characters are shit so don't go into it hoping for good characters, I didn't like cole either though so, eh, you come away with a different take on them.

I'd say Second Son is less interesting story wise, but more fun in terms of gameplay.
They also did some really cool things with tying visuals into gameplay. Here's an example.

It's hard to tell from this gif, but draining neon signs to recharge the neon power looks really good.

As did a lot of things with this power.

And it's not even my favorite power in the game. But that one wasn't shown in any trailers I think, so I won't show it here.

Thanks for your input John2290 and Hiku!  I think I'll give this a try since it was free for PS Plus and will have to look into First Light.  Those are some cool visuals, seems like they got more creative on how they did with the powers.

Still wish they kept Cole and better yet continued with the evil ending of Infamous 2 that I must preferred lol
