Did the last Halo outsell Spiderman? And that's a serious question because I don't know. I see that you're being really level headed with everything as of late so I am just curious.

I know it might seem biased on my part but I believe Spiderman to be the bigger property than Halo right now when you consider the exposure of a billion dollar movie with the best selling PS exclusive of all time. Right now there has never been a better time to be a Spiderman fan and although the new game itself is just a short spin off, the property is hot right now and will drive sales beyond launch.

Halo 5? Of course not. Infinite is only theories at this point but between XB1/PC/Series X/Game Pass/Xcloud it is almost guaranteed to be more popular then Halo 3 ever was.

Not knocking Spiderman MM, I’m sure it’s going to be an amazing game and the IP speaks for itself. It does however fall within history that PS starts a gen light and builds up from there. I just know if Xbox hypothetically launched with a “Halo 3 ODST” type of game instead of Halo Infinite, people on social media would complain a lot. So it’s really lucky for Sony that the IP compensates for that and their fans are more then understanding.

People would complain because Xbox usually starts at their best and get worse during the gen, so if they launch XSX with Halo 3 ODST as their peak then the rest of the gen will be lukewarm at best =p (just using your line of thought).

No fair you guys get the best double standards!

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

I wonder how Horizon 2 is going to tackle underwater levels. I never was a fan of this dynamic in videogames.

Hopefully it will be limited to exploration/stealth but I wonder if you can override one of the machines and use it to traverse the waters.

Still waiting to be blown away with the flying though!

I think Sony will have slight updated versions of Ghost of Tsushima and Tlou2 ready at launch along with Spidey and whatever they haven't announced yet.

If spidey is a 15-20hr stand alone I'll be happy, but as some have said, games like Cyberpunk, COD etc will carry people until Feb / March. I remember that's when infamous second son dropped and Titan Fall.

I sort of hoped for Horizon to be a launch title. But in the end it does not matter too much.
Sony (or Microsoft) do not really need a great first party line-up. There is a group of people, millions strong, that will buy the console no matter what. I even read a while back, that PS5 might end up a bit supply contrained.
Sooner more exlusives is better, sure. But it might be good strategy to hold some first party titles back until all the hard core people have bought a PS5 and the potential customers that are left are the ones that need cinvincing.

I'm very happy that Horizon Forbidden West is coming out in 2021 and GG take their time to make a great Game that start to take advantage of PS5 hardware and new features.
I'm confident it will be the most impressive first generation PS5 Game.

Me too, but I think they will announce it closer to launch to not damage the sales of the PS4 versions.
