Because it isn't as good. FFVIIR for me looks and play 100x better than the original even if only covering a part of the story and it felt satisfying and enough for an entry already saying it will be continued.

Wait what?!

Seriously FF7r isn’t the entire game AND they will be splitting it over several releases? This makes me even less interested in the game.

For the record I’ve played FF 1,3,4,5,6,7 but actually lost interest in the series because of 7.

FFVIIR is an entire game. But sure you can think it is bad if you want.

The two series aren't even in the same ballpark in terms of popularity. This is like comparing Guacamelee to Mario.

But more guacamoles are sold everyday than Mario games.

We've known that the FF7 remake would be split over multiple releases for almost as long as we've known that it even existed. If you didn't already know that then I'm not sure it's possible for you to be less interested in it

I’m generally not interested in remakes of games I’ve already played, thats why I’ve not followed news around FF7r. :p

The Remake added a lot of good stuff it is a completely new game taking a very similar path and plot line only.

Just to stay a bit on topic.

I ordered and is currently playing Trails of Mana. I loved Secret of Mana back in the SNES days.

But I’m sorry to say it but the game is such a drag. I’m going to finish it but the combat is repetetive and there is absolutley no exploration and you are always running towards a quest marker on the only path the game presents to you. I actually got a flash back to about 3 years ago when I tried to play Secret of Mana again and couldn’t bring myself to finishing it then because that game was soooo repetetive (at least there where no quest markers to just run at).

Now I will force myself through ToM but I regret getting it, would have been better to live with the illusion that it was this great game we never got outside japan.

Trials of Mana, while the better game, had a much smaller budget, less advertising, and is based on a game that is less known around the world.

The game isn't even a "remake" once you finish the game and figure out what is going on.  The word "remake" is a subtitle used in the same way as "lighting returns" is used for the 3rd FFXIII entry.  "Remake" was chosen to throw people off and hide a plot twist for the game moving forward, which is why certain die hard fans are crying over it and claiming false advertising.

I for one loved the game, and am very interested to see where part 2 goes.

I could agree with you, but then we would both be wrong.
