I've only played a couple of hours in, and yeah, the Outlast comparison kind of drove me off a lot. Not really a fan of that type of game, so I'm glad to hear it gets more like the older RE games, which I love.

Experiencing it in VR, if it is a possibility for you, is highly recommended. I played through it in its entierty in PSVR. One of the best games I ever played, and that is in no small part also because of VR.

Have you tried the unique feature on PSVR that isn't possible in any other version? To hide your body behind the walls and sneak peak on windows and doors for enemies without being exposed yourself?

It was funny stucking the head inside a car.

I definitely can remember peaking around many corners. But I think I have not tried any cars :)

Was really a cool feeling being able to di these things so naturaly, them not being bound to any buttons.

This game looks great in VR, but I have no access to Virtual Reality.

But even without VR I can still feel the tension. Sometimes even opening a door to a new area is scary, just like in the classic games.

That is true, the tension of you being next to death at all time, but the moments you really battle are sparse give a fine balance to the game. Very unlikely than RE4 to 6 imho.

Hopefully not a spoiler but there was a part where all I did was walk into a room. A ball rolled across the floor and I said "oh hell naw!!" Turned the game off, instantly. My wife laughed at me. I remember having cold sweat in my armpits every time I played this game.

I may give it another playthrough soon. Maybe even give the DLC a try. I hear some of it doesn't support VR, though.
