It is all about balance. Sony also had a lot of Indies on PS4 reveal but they also revealed jaw dropping demos at the same time and good quantity. When the event made by MS had basically only indies and one crossgen that wasn't looking jaw dropping besides Hellblade or Halo also not doing that when presented that harm a little the power narrative MS is going for.

But sure in the end all that is irrelevant as both companies are still to really show what they have for launch and will probably do it along June/July.

You really cannot compare an E3 event to a streamed small event like MS showed we need some context.  Neither Sony or MS has showed their hand so can we not act like that small streamed event was the only thing they will be doing for this year.

The fact is, you are comparing a tech demo to a game showing and trying to find meaning.  The meaning is that one is a ways off from realization and the other is around the corner.

I will give you this, MS should know by now how gamers are.  If you are not blowing their minds then you are garbage.  There usually no middle ground and they should just follow Sony play book.  Show them trailers of stuff years off from completion to get the wow factor going even if those games may never see daylight.  What was that capcom dragon game that never came out and was exclusive to the PS4.

True, if MS wanted to wow people and get them excited for next gen, they should have followed Sony's playbook. The only thing is that they've been pretty clear about their strategy and don't want to be in another platform war with Sony. MS's strategy is a lot more about building GP subscribers through a ton of different devices (including the Xone) as their end game is reaching billions of mobile gamers through Cloud gaming. It's a very ambitious strategy that does make total sense from a business standpoint for MS. However, it will also be a marketing nightmare for selling a next gen console.

In the end, both companies pretty much showed what they promised. Sony will be pushing next gen graphics and want people to migrate asap, while MS was being more consumer friendly and showed a bunch of smaller GP titles that won't require people to upgrade. I got a feeling we'll be seeing the same thing in July for their 1st party games, except that they'll have some bigger franchises like Halo and Forza with an "optimized for Series X" logo.

Xbox fans' hatred for Capcom is terrible.
Next is scalebound ?
If the developers were Westerner....

Actually that is a kind of bad thing for Microsoft. If you look at Youtube, that so called tech demo for "Unreal Engine 5 Reveal" has over 10.2million views and is met with a majority of positive feedback. Whereas the "Xbox One Series X Gameplay" has around 2.2M (across 2 videos) with very mixed feedback; not including the initial video that was deleted probably due to amount of dislikes.

More importantly though, first impressions is key, especially in this industry like this where trends do matter. What happened to Kinect, game share (DRM) and $499? Or PS3 with the infamous $599, with giant Crab at E3.

Both are videos marketing tools. Microsoft has laid out their hand first showing firstly hardware unveil, now software. Sony have talked about their consoles via GDC and have collaborated with Epic to show something running on it. Tomato / Tomahto.

I was looking at some of the era threads and they have a new thread regarding this subject. Other than having this tweet which says that both consoles will support the UE5 features showcased in the demo...

The thread also had this link which shows Epic China engineers talking about various things including the demo.

"Epic China engineers’ interview, if you know Chinese you can confirm it by yourself.

53:00, he said his notebook could run at 1440p 40fps+, optimization target is 60fps for next-gen.

2:08:00, SSD bandwidth (for the flying part) isn’t as that high as ppl said, not need a stricted spec SSD (decent SSD is ok).

Someone at TGFCer forum said, the engineer just confirmed to him: RTX 2080 GPU notebook but forgot the exact SSD model, maybe 970 EVO Plus. (http://club.tgfcer.com/thread-8307013-7-1.html 94th post)"

Also remember that the 2080 Notebook GPU is slower than a 2080 Desktop

Edit: Take it with a grain of salt obviously

I liked Sony's one better cause it actually showed some gameplay instead of "In Engine"

But neither will be truly worth the fap until they show case their first party games.

Gameplay of a tech demo vs gameplay and in engine footage of games actually coming out that people can play.

As others have said, uh the Xbox reveal was Hellblade II and in what world would a tech demo surpass actual games. Plus who is actually thinking Sony is losing market share or PR points? Is this another crapgamer/Youtuber angle?

The tech demo is still more "gameplay" than what was seen in that Hellblade trailer.

Look at Uncharted 4's in engine trailer vs the actual game? The game still looks amazing but in engine trailers do not show much at all. I thought we all learned last gen that cinematic trailers of games mean nothing?

I'm just happy the UE5 tech demo was not like the UE4 tech demo and was actually interactive and simulated real game play running in real time, as the UE4 tech demo was not good at all in terms of actually showing things. (Although PS4/XB1 Games actually looked better than the UE4 demo, I wonder if that will be the same this time around)

I think most people here are ameteur of technology.
Explain to everyone to understand.

Unreal Engine 5 is being optimized for 60fps

Epic China says you don't need PS5's SSD to run the demo, decent SSDs will do just fine.

Thanks.

By the way it is from the reddit.
The original video has very low views and low ratings.
Besides, Can you understand Chinese?

P.M Do you really believe that the PS5 performs less than a laptop PC?
