my guess is they actually don't know the price of the system yet so and will only give forecasts once this is out

Around this time period before the ps4 launched people were saying the the ps3 will easily pass 100 million and pass the Wii, and the ps3 got a lot of support after the ps4 launched. Not saying it won't happen, but I don't think it's a safe bet.

Yep this quarter is already down 43%. A FY forecast for 2021 down 43% would be 7.7m. But likely more with the release of the PS5. Coronavirus does seem to be shaking things up though, and who knows how long it will last.

Last Official price cut for PS3 was on September 2012 with the introduction of super slim model at $269.99, The Ps4 launched on November 2013 at $399.99, a difference of only $130.

If the rumors are true, Ps5 will possibly launch at $499.
This time the difference in price between PS4 and PS5 will be bigger and COULD possibly lead to different results.

But again, this is only an assumption!!
