Check games on wiiU such as Xenoblades X. The wiiU was not pushed because it was not selling so nintendo abandoned it.

My issue was with the comment that it was a massive upgrade, as I said the ps4 pro has a much bigger upgrade to slim ps4 than wiiU to switch.

The upgrade exists but its nowhere near a generational or even mid-ten upgrade. Nowhere near the wii to wiiU upgrade which was massive.

Those games you mention on switch most look really bad full of aliasing and framerate issues.

There was still some notable games on WiiU. Breath of the Wild is probably the most technically impressive one.

Most of the PS4 to PS4 Pro upgrades get sunk into resolution/framerate...
Usually from 1080P to 1440P or 77.77% increase. A few hit targets like 1600/1800P of course.

Wii U to Switch titles, most Wii U titles were around the 720P mark and Switch Docked ports were 1080P or 125%.

Handheld wise... The Wii U portable display was a 16:9 480P display and the Switch was 720P and most WiiU ports hit those resolutions which is a difference of 124.82% difference.

But when you compare a game like Breath of the Wild... It will hit 648P natively (480P handheld) and scale upwards to 900P on the Docked Switch.

Either way, there is still a big resolution jump between WiiU and Switch in most titles... Sales isn't really an excuse, the WiiU's hardware is technically inferior than the Switch on almost all fronts, which is why so many games exhibited performance issues on WiiU and not on Switch.

Plus Switch has a lot more over Wii U than just resolutions; better textures, shaders, effects, etc.

PS4 Pro vs PS4 is generally just a res boost or minor settings tweaks.

Video game graphics are quite bad. That is why i watch more tv shows. So realistic. :-O

I don't really care much about graphical leaps. Sure, its cool seeing an evolution of graphics from games I've played long ago to games I play now. However, I'm not sure if next-gen is going to convince me, in terms of graphics, that we will see something incredibly new. I'm more focused on what tech can do with gameplay opportunities. What can next-gen games do that games cannot do in the past, or even current-gen, in terms of gameplay? That will be something I would like to see moving forward.

The visuals of next gen should be a massive jump over this generation. I can't wait to see the ps5

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

Zero. I'm completely content with the level we are at now.

Need something off Play-Asia? http://www.play-asia.com/

As far as I’m concerned we close to hitting the “graphical wall”. At this point it’s all about FPS and resolution being the highest possible.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

I think I could be, but for that I would first have to buy an Oled TV. After that, I will be very impressed. But that might be more because of the TV than because of the graphical leap without an Oled tv.

Nope.

Like 2 gens away tops ;)

For me I think it's less a matter of "things can't look much better" and more "things already look so good". I started gaming with Starfox on the SNES so the amount of progress graphics have made just in my 26 years as a gamer is frankly mind-blowing.

It's not that the step up from PS3/360 to PS4/Xbone wasn't noticeable or even substantial, it's just that when your starting point is stuff that already looked as good as God of War Ascension or Halo 4 the jump didn't seem as big to me.

I'm curious whether the same will apply again this time, or whether PS5/XSX will manage to give me that feeling I got the first time I saw Rogue Squadron II or Gears of War.
