Forums - Gaming - Nintendo Pre E3 info leaking? (MP3, Brawl, Mario Galaxy, new Zelda?, so on)

MP3: Come on people! Downloadable content isn't even possible on the Wii with it's storage space. We know that this isn't going to happen, unless Nintendo makes a hard drive at some point (very unlikely).

How much do you think suits or weapons will take flash space? In addition, if the new missions are taking place in the environments already placed in the disk, the info would not take much space. It is also confirmed that Metroid will include Wifi-connection. If there's no multiplayer, what do you think they are going to use it for?

Also, the graphics are suddenly amazing? They looked pretty sub-par 2 forums posts away. Don't be suckers.

So there were like 5 pics and none of them showed any new locations and you're already sure of the general look?

SSBB: Confirmed WiFi, sudden capabilities to use the Wiimote (the games biggest criticism is lack of Wiimote functionality)? This is probably the most reasonable of them but still, the lack of any true information (pay attention to how vague everything is on these posts) really shows it for what it is.

What do you consider to be non-vague? Perhaps a new game with a title?

Vision Red, oh COME ON. Give me a break. That's probably the most obvious BS of all. Giving Nintendo their own Final Fantasy VII!? You can't tell me that's not just too perfect a target to be true.

Vague information?

SMG: Again, giving the fanboys exactly what they want! What people fear about SMG is that they are going to be constantly hopping from small planet to small planet and find a lack of real substance.

It's already evident from the latest trailer, that some of the planets are huge.

Mario Kart, hehe, of course a Mario Kart is coming but not this early in the Wii's life.

Early?

A new darker Zelda... hehe that's the one that gives it away. Zelda is a kid's game. It's not going to suddenly become dark and serious with Link evil. No matter how much us hardcore gamers want it to be.

Most of Zelda fans are probably aged around 20 and Nintendo has already stated that they intent to change the style of the games for that reason. Besides, the SSBB Link fits the description well.

WiiGirl, I think the dates are written in american order, which means the 12/10/2007 is in fact the 10th of december and not the 12th of october...

Oops sorry, you're right ;) Read it wrong. Wondering what the Japanese release will be. At first October but I doubt it.

how do we know this info is fake? I'm not saying it isn't, just that i don't see the reason to say it is. The information is very detailed for some of the games, and honestly is quite realistic.

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

What? You're just going to quote me and question all my points without making any of your own. Contribute or don't post.

How much flash Memory does it take to make downloadable weapons and armor? Just guessing for a game the size of Metroid Prime 10MB per. There are only 512 MB of flash memory on the whole Wii.

I'd say 5 pics are pretty good for the "general look" but believe what you want. It's the art style that matters on Metroid not the graphics. If you care that much about them Wii isn't the system for you.

What do I consider vague? Well let's see: despite him claiming he didn't care about the embargo he didn't even state the NAME of the new character, nor the playable level. Showing he really didn't know much about the game, nor did he want to make any predictions that might throw the validity of his article into question. If you are going to spread a lie, vague is the way to go.

Vision Red had the least information of any post. For starter's, it's name is retarded. Nintendo is great at giving their products quality names, and I don't see them ever naming a game something as generic as Vision Red. To add to that, it's art style was similar to final fantasy VII? Final Fantasy VII's art style is Square's art style. Only Microsoft copies art styles completely (Blue Dragon = Dragon Quest). I'd say it's pretty obvious that he picked FFVII because it's a recognizable RPG and it would get people excited.  Again, more evidence that it was made up to get people excited.  I don't see why you need a definition of vague, but I'll give you one anyway: not clearly or explicitly stated or expressed.

Despite the fact that there ARE large planets in the trailer Mario is never seen doing anything other than hopping from small platform to small platform. That certainly doesn't confirm large planet exploration.

I don't know what you are asking here. Yes it is early in the Wii's life and they are still holding back some games for release later.

The average Zelda player may be 20 (though I doubt it) but it's a family friendly game. Nintendo has never once stated that they intend to darken or mature the series. The Link in SSBB is the EXACT Link that appeared in Twilight Princess (albeit with better graphics), so I don't see how you are going to link (lol) that to a new darker incarnation of the series. Either source that Nintendo is going to adjust the Zelda series to a more mature audience, or don't comment if you aren't going to add intelligent points to the discussion.

Believe me I would love most of this stuff to be true, but I'm not going to take a looped quote, with already proven innacruate information (as every news website stated the Nintendo event was about the casual games rather than the hardcore) and pretend it's the facts.

This is TOTALLY false. If you watch podcasts and the like. The 1UP Show had a speacial at the Media Summit and said that it was ALL about their mainstream, casual games. They said their most core gamer type game was MArio Strikers: Charged. Plus, SSB:B isn't using the Wiimote. You use a controller.

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

Well, true or not, it sure does get me pumped for Min-E3. I would say that there will be big planets on SMG, but only 1 per level, and it wont be HUGE. The information is very vague, and it is any Nintendo fans dream, I agree. The only thing I cant imagine is why anyone would come up with so many rumors about so many games. He must have obviously known that it would have been labeled as false(since when are news reported on forums that have not yet been discussed on gaming sites). What is the intent. Please tell us, Phoenix Wright (Joke)

Again, I don't have a GC anymore, and although I have controllers readily available through friends when we play together, and I don't have a problem going out and buying either GC controllers or Classics...
I think it'd be the best strategy to work out using the Wiimote/nunchuck in SSBB, because that wouldn't force players to buy a new controller, thus more games sold hopefully. They could add some motion if they wanted, as an option, but I'm pretty sure they could do Wiimote/nunchuck with no motion in SSBB just fine.

What do you need to play SSBB?

A joystick for varying degrees of smashing, running, jumping, etc. Nunchuck joystick.
An A button for punch attacks. A button on Wiimote.
A B button for special attacks. B button on Wiimote.
A grab button. C on nunchuck.
A sheild/dodge button. Z on nunchuck.

That pretty much covers everything, except for players that like to press a button to jump in SSB, and in that case, it's possible they could assign "grab" to down on the D-pad, and put the jump button as C.

It works in my mind, and it'd save the cost of buying new controllers...but if they tack motion onto it, I'll just get GC or classic controllers.

EDIT:  And again, quite a few of my friends don't like SSBM because they suck at it...honestly, some of us got good at it, and they never played enough to get good, so now they just shun it.  If I can get them to like SSBB, it can't have motion control, or at least have an option not to have it, because they'd denounce it again, and I'd be stuck playing the N64 version with them all the time.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Whats wrong with the N64 version? Yeah... Since I only just got SSBM with my Wii, I was around 5 years behind. I have friends who have played around 500 hours on SSBM, and they kick ass. I have never been able to compete against them, 1vs1, so I mostly enjoy the 4-man melee. However, if we were to play the N64 version, I would own each and every single one of them (DK all the way). I am hoping SSBB will change all this.

I'm hoping SSBB will be a fresh start for me and all my friends...hopefully it's different enough from SSBM that we'll all suck in the beginning. And yeah, nothing's wrong with the N64 version, I just find SSBM way more fun, just not when certain friends play, because they suck at it and therefore hate it.

Well, then I must say you are not very bright.  If you read the thread in neogaf just about no one thinks it is true.  There is a link there stating that the post also appeared in another forum and again stated that it was only for them.  It's obviously fake.  Why is the new character not named?  Why was no other media allowed to see this stuff?  Oh yeah, becase they can't talk...except, again, this guy breaks the rule but actually have no new information posted other than half-truths or very vague suggestions that could be true.

No rumor of Mario Kart.  Yes, we know it's coming, but why is that guy the only one that even remotely has seen it?  Oh, because it's popular.  Why compare an RPG to FF7?  Oh, because it's popular.  Come on.  No one wants an RPG to look like FF7 anymore.

Why would someone break an agreement not to say anything...on neogaf?  Just use your brain.  Please.
