Yeah, I agree. So much Mario, and only one or two IP dusted off for their best-selling platform. I expect/hope to see more titles in the vein of "Wave Race" that appear on this list and hopefully some sequels to the multitude of Wii U ports (new "DKC", anyone?). Maybe some Pilotwings, or F-Zero, or "Excite-whatever".
I have high hopes that we get another big game from Monolithsoft (either XC3 or a new project), and hopefully another Fire Emblem. Maybe some more weird Pokken/Hyrule Warriors type crossovers. Not to mention another new quirky IP or two.

Not taking into account Switch 2, because I think Nintendo will slowly hand out first party content even after Switch 2 is released like they did with the 3DS. 2020 2021 2022 2023 2024 2025 2026 2027 Realistically, Nintendo's next console will come out in 2023-2024, but Nintendo will keep supporting the Switch even after that. That is what they did with the 3DS. Although 2022 will probably be the last year for the really major titles. |
I think this leans a bit more fan wishlist than what we'll actually get, but if we really do get something like this then I'm gonna say right now that Switch will beat PS2's lt sales record.

Yeah, I did put some games I'd like to see between now and 2023. I am extremely confident that Nintendo will resurrect some of their old IP, but which old IP I don't know, so I just put in stuff I like. For 2024 and later I just put in smaller scope games, and again I don't know which smaller scope games, but I am confident there will be games of this sort of budget and scope.
curl-6 bet me that PS5 + X|S sales would reach 56m before year end 2023 and he was right.

Nintendo is really hard to predict, especially since they don't tend to announce games more than a year in advance like virtually every other publisher. I'm not even going to try to predict every single first-party release, because I don't feel like it. Some of these I feel pretty strongly about, some are just ideas. I'm leaving 2023 blank because I think Switch 2 will launch November 2022, March 2023, or November 2023. And final months of Nintendo first-party support are particularly hard to predict.
