Forums - Gaming Discussion - What single player games do you enjoy replaying?

I have quite a few:
- Ori and the Blind Forest
- Super Metroid
- Metroid Prime Trilogy
- Super Mario World
- Final Fantasy main series (especially IV, VI and VII)
- Hollow Knight (can’t wait for Silksong!!)
- The Uncharted series
- The Last of Us
- Zelda ALTTP, Wind Waker, BOTW
- Ratchet & Clank (Reboot)
- Secret of Mana
- God of War (PS4)
- Batman Arkham Asylum (my favourite in the series)
- Castlevania SOTN
- Skyrim (currently playing through it in VR)
- Resident Evil 1-2 remakes and VII

I certainly have more but those are the ones that first come to mind without thinking about it too much.

I must've played through Starfox SNES and 64 over a thousand times each.

What I'd give for a new (good) Star Fox game. Zero could have been good if it wasn't for the Gamepad. I'd rather see one more like 64, but with more levels and better graphics.

Far out me too, I would do terrible, terrible things for a good new Starfox. Every one since 64 has sucked in my opinion.

I play Uncharted again every 5-7 months thinking "maybe it will be better this time", and it never is. Great game concept though, very captivating one.

I used to replay Dark Souls and Halo a lot though those two franchises have mostly been on an indefinite break from me this gen.

I will say on the topic that I have quite a few games from last year that I already want to replay: Iconoclasts, Dead Rising 1 (and 2 if you count playing Off The Record as "replaying" and not as a separate game), the DMC series, Nier Automata, even eventually Dragon Age Origins, FF9 and Tales of Vesperia. Actually, that IS every game I finished last year, barring DMC2, Gravity Rush, and Astral Chain (which I'll probably do for a Platinum marathon anyways, even if I'm not exactly bursting at the seems to replay it). Can't say I'll enjoy the replays though if I technically haven't replayed them yet.

If you played a game 20 times (uncharted) then maybe it is a good as it should be =p

I replayed platformers often in the 80s and 90s. But, in the 21st century, the only game that I've replayed multiple times is Halo:CE. It is probably the most significant game to me personally. So, I like to revisit it from time to time. Other than that, I just want to play new stuff, rather than games that I've already played.

Counter argument: I've played Flappy Bird at least 30 times (given the nature of the game) and I wouldn't say it's very good : P

Agreed. At least Metroid Prime 4 has been confirmed to be in development. So many Nintendo franchises have been left dormant for a long time. I guess the same for many publishers and developers.

Along with Bayonetta 3 I've almost completely given up hope of ever seeing Prime 4. After years with no gameplay, no screens, no nothing, it feels like vaporware perpetually stuck in the distant future. :(

Unless you are masochist then you think these games are good. Even if you can't say it yourself.

I was including them as games I go back to, but don't actually finish. As in, I play a few hours, remember why I don't like them very much, and move on. If we're talking about how many times I've actually replayed the games all the way through, the number would only be once, and there was a 8+ year gap in between that, so.

But honestly masochism is one of many traits that could accurately describe me.

Nintendo announced Prime 4 way too early. If the rumors are correct development on the game started over.

That wasn't even a rumor, Nintendo themselves officially confirmed they started again in January 2019, except now its in the hands of Retro who haven't been able to put out a single new game in over 6 years. I wouldn't be surprised if it never sees the light of day.
