Metal Gear is one of my favorite franchise out there.

For pure speculations sake I must say that Konami today can’t even begin to do those IPs justice anymore. I mean post Kojima they made Metal Gear Survive.



Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

It was similar yes. The Sony rumor was complex. From what I gathered, it was Sony had brokered a deal with Konami to publish & distribute a new Silent Hill game, but that the IP itself was staying with Konami and then Sony/Konami would split the profits. And from there, Sony was hiring Kojimi Productions to actually develop the game, which of course would be his Silent Hills game that got cancelled before his departure from Konami.

But, I'm fairly certain I saw that Konami just recently debunked that rumor completely in an official statement.

Being April Fool's I wouldn't put much stock in this rumor either.

This rumor apparently popped up at the beginning of March, and was brought back up with MS supposedly finalizing the deal on the night of March 30th. I doubt it just because it would cost way more than it would be worth for Xbox, vs just paying for marketing rights/ timed exclusive content.

The problem is what could MS get marketing rights and timed exclusivity for? Konami doesn't make many games these days. Their last big release was MGSV. About the same time Konami's gaming division seemingly collapsed.

Also, Konami has already made it clear console gaming isn't their focus and they're doing fine.

I am sure its all BS, but I would love to see MS throw some money at big Japanese games using these IPs.
