The Mainstream Establishment Media using Republican talking points to distract and disrupt discussion around Defund the Police, making the slogan the talking point NOT the issues, it is something that has been done constantly for a long time to neutralise the focus on the actual issues

Jamaal Bowman does a good job in standing against CNN's Republican talking points and taking them to task for ignoring the actual issues

Trump forgot that he's actually terrible at hiring people. Everyone he hired has backstabbed him and then he went after them proving just how much he sucks at choosing "the best people".

Still won't let my guard down and ignore the damage he has done to all of the courts across the country.

To be fair, people that aren't blindly loyal to an individual are definitely better for government jobs than people that are.

So I dunno about "best", but that at least proves they're not "the worst people".

Nope, they're still the worst. People who willingly indulge him only do it for themselves and because they have no spine and for the very same reason they're also gonna go against him. They are the worst and should not hold any position of power.

Supreme Courst rejects Texas's lawsuit to overturn the election and throw out 20 million votes in 4 states: https://www.wsj.com/articles/trump-campaign-loses-wisconsin-election-lawsuit-11607713668

Looks like the checks and balances in the system have ultimately held.

When I was in undergrad my family's house was in a 500 year flood that would have taken the place out without a sandbag wall that we put up and had to watch for about a week or so with several feet of water on the other side. The morbid amusement that comes from watching the water slowly get higher and wondering if it will overtake the wall and destroy almost everything we owned is extremely similar to how watching these court cases has felt. I'm on pins and needles to know what Trump tries next, while I hope with all my heart that our systems are strong enough to hold him back.

From what I have been told, the military is next.  It seems that people who follow Qanon believe that the president has all this evidence for treason and will be holding military tribunal to prosecute everyone that is corrupt in politics.  This is some truly popcorn eating stuff, I am reading.

Well, it's official now.

I'm sure this won't be the end of the absurd shenanigans, but surely there's little that can be done to overturn the results now.

Michigan Republicans try to insert their own electors in a performative stunt:

The lengths they continue to go to commit to this farce are astounding. At this point I'd be surprised if the election doesn't result in some form of mass violence and continued rhetoric like this will be squarely to blame - not that any of them will be held accountable.

There was nothing that could be done at any point to change the results. It's just about Trump trying to wring every last dollar out of his supporters, and posturing so he can use them as a buffer when the legal shit hits the fan. And GOP people who have to get elected are too afraid to lose the nutjob faction of the party to say what they all know to be true. It's not surprising that those who have nothing to gain from indulging this nonsense, namely the courts, have been shutting it down since day one. An independent judiciary was one of the better ideas the framers had.

The electoral vote was rigged. I heard there were millions of dead electors who voted illegally.

Just following a 1960 Dem precedent.

No wonder, Republicans do seem to like to repeat things from the 60s.

For the sake of argument, we'll assume the two situations were the same. I mean, they weren't, as the article shows, but that's besides the point.

If that were the case, and the two situations were identical, then it was unacceptable in 1960 and it's unacceptable now. Simple as that.
