BTW, is there any doubt that China's statistics are a complete fiction at this point? Somehow, this started in the most densely populated city in a highly densely populated country that was spreading with no one even being aware of its existence until it had already killed enough people for doctors to notice it, and even then they covered it up for weeks afterwards.

Yet, somehow, we're to believe that even though the spread had gone unchecked for basically months only managed to get to about 80,000 citizens?

Both China and Iran's numbers are way off.

Or worse case scenario is there is no doctors or supplies at all because the economy collapses and there is no way to produce supplies or pay for the doctors.

And that is why war time economic measures exist and plans set out for them to be followed with only minor adjustments needed here. That won't happen, the medical idustry will get what it needs nor will people starve or go without absolute essential products forsurvival, they'll go a bit hungry maybe or have to navigate gaps in their needs and life will be shittier for it but no one in western nations will starve or be in need of vital supplies.

Yes, because food, medical supplies, shelter, etc is all here because someone waved a magic wand and not from someone's hard work. Gee, thanks for the insight, you made the world a better place.

Thats the morality rate at oyr current compacity.

If 100 people are infected and a mortality is 3% then 3 people would die but lets say 20 people need to be hospitalized but there are only 8 hospital beds. If half of those who cant get hospitalized die the rate becomes 9% (6+9). Imagine these numbers translating to the US population of hundreds of millions of people it looks bad.

As for being able to afford resources the federal government has passed laws that allow people not working to be paid until this is over and for people being layed off are getting a 1.2k per month basic income.

1.2k a month... LOL you can't afford rent in my area with that money and it is obvious that isn't sustainable for the long run and nor can it be done until the virus vaccine is found and mass produced.

The governments are working to suspend rent payments. Mortgage payments have already been suspended.

Even if it slim it translates to millions of death's.  Without social distancing hundreds of millions will the the virus. 2-3% will die from the virus alone and 10% will ve hospitalized but our hospitals dont have the capacity to hold tens of millions of people at once and so some people will die from not getting treated.  Also other non coronavirus patients that need to be hospitalized wont be able to get their procedures and could die from that.

Yeah the risk is low at 2-3% but even with that other factors will make the death toll much higher.

Only if you're old, an infant or someone with a weak immune system should you stay home. Everyone else can get back to work and live their lives. More than 2-3% of our lives are going to be affected if we don't start working and keep the economy going. Soon, we will run out of supplies and companies will face irreversible damage causing less jobs and the great depression.

NO!!!! HELL NO!!!!! Do not listen to this guy. Stay home. If you do not, 3% of deaths will be a massive understatement and the possibility of millions dying around the world. Stay home and isolate yourself even if you are not that much at risk. Listen to the scientists and experts. If left unchecked, no country will have the infrastructure to handle all the new cases, there won't be enough healthy people left to do the jobs, the economy will be more in tatters, the possibility of most of the healthcare workers being sick and out of commission increases and not to mention, the other diseases won't just disappear. If every hospital and clinic is occupied with covid 19 cases, people with other complications will also start to die due to a lack of care and we will have to start choosing who gets to live and who gets to die. It will be a disaster at the scale of something like the black plague. Seriously keep your opinion to yourself.

They are likely to be alot higher.
However I believe that they actually did manage to stop it in wuhan province.

Testing works.
Exit your house only when needed, a guy at the door to your apparentment, takes your temperatur.
Entrences to shops? your temperatur is taken.
Camras everywhere, drones and robots fly/drive up to you, yelling at you to put on masks, go home, your not being responsible by gathering here ect ect.

For months..... and ontop of this, if you fail a temperatur test, police show up (quick) and escort you to a testing facility.
You are told, stand here, wait in line, wait for tests results (even if its like 4-5hours), and if you fail the test (have coronavirus), they take you away.
(your not allowed to go back home to "self isolate yourself from society", they police you, and make sure your away from anyone you can infect, even your own family or friends)

They where brutal about it.
Robots running around spraying disinfectents like mad.
People whos only job, is to stand near a door, to constantly wipe down door handles ect.

They shut down everything, didnt even keep open public transportation or anything.

Chinese doctors see our "100% lockdown" and shake their heads.
Saying we re not takeing it seriously enough.

Which means they will have to pay a lot of money to landlord which is probably something that won't get done without a huge tax increase which will burden the middle class like no other.

People are already doing it, WAKE UP!! This is the inevitable because humans are social creatures and will eventually stop isolating themselves. Stop trying to bury your head in sand and start facing the facts.

8% of the cases in Italy are doctors and nurses and doctors and nurses are dying as well. Its getting so bad they are fast tracking those getting close to graduating from medical school into the field. They are also asking recently retired doctors to come back to work. Nurses are committing suicide over the amount of death they have seen. People are dying alone, scared, and you do not get a funeral your body will be burned and discarded. Your family will be in quarantine and no one will be by your side as you pass away. Italy has one of the best health care systems in the world, USA isn't in the top 30.

So your reasoning is: "You can lie and cheat, everyone does it?" A lot of people are staying at home and are listening thankfully. There are idiots out there like in Florida and like you but what the people around the world are doing is stopping it's impact. Are enough people doing it? I have no idea but hopefully. All we can do is do it ourselves and educate others.
