Regardless of Halo Infinite development issues, I'm still so excited for the game. Just gotta be patient.

Gears POP! had a nice concept for a mobile game but unfortunately they completely butchered it with p2w shit.. even some of the achievements were nearly unobtainable without spending money.
Speaking of Gears, it's nice they're still supporting Gears 5 with story dlc and other stuff. But one thing I don't understand is how are The Coalition so out of touch with achievements? Over and over again they keep adding these insanely grindy achievements nobody finds fun! I mean, 100k kills in versus, seriously? It's not even eliminations, it's kills. It'll take years completing it while playing ranked instead of wasting hundreds of hours grinding against bots. Then they of course had to make an achievement for re-upping 50 times..
Tbf Rare is also guilty of this endless grind stuff on Sea of Thieves.
I support these achievements and every game should have a few very hard ones. That's the definition of an achievement. Those who will be rewarded after years will have something special and those who don't get it shouldn't believe that an achievement is something you just get.
Sure, skill based achievements are the best but nothing wrong to have a few to reward those who support your game for a very long time.

There's a certain tradition in Gears of War, and it's called "Seriously." It's the name of an achievement that has appeared in every entry in the Gears of War franchise, one that causes most players to scoff, throw their hands up in the air and admit defeat upon merely gazing at the ludicrous achievement requirements.
Example
Seriously 2.0
Kill 100,000 enemies (any mode)
I don't mind and I think I will possible end up getting them

I'm well aware of Gears traditions lol and Seriously 2.0 is an example of reasonable achievement that still requires dedication. And it's kills across all modes, unlike Gears 5 that has 100k versus kills and also insane grinds for assists and horde kills as well. So it isn't even one Seriously achievement, and they keep adding these after launch. Seriously 5.0 is actually ok.
Did you find Seriously 3.0 ok too? It forced people to boost 24/7 and many broke their consoles doing it. Play 6000 matches of each game mode to get those Onyx medals, you do the math how many hours that would take.
Pretty surprising there's people defending even this bullshit. Give a special weapon skin or something for these grinds but achievements like these only hurt the game. Just check trueachievement.com ratings for Gears 5 updates.
Might check out Watch Dogs Legions just to see some Series X visuals. Looked great on that clip and the first game was alright. Got to say, that dude hyping up smooth 30fps and cinematic experience sounded like he's taking the piss lol.

Same. Honestly, I kind of suspect that critics are pulling the same bullshit they pulled in 2013 where they review most of the Holiday games lower than they deserve because they are disappointed by next-gen/cross-gen. Almost every Holiday 2013 game got a sub 80 meta (both XB1/PS4 exclusives and multiplats) and I fear the same thing is happening again this Holiday with XS and PS5 launch. I've watched hours of Watch Dogs previews, and everything I saw looked great. It looked like it had the mechanical/gameplay improvements that Watch Dogs 2 brought over Watch Dogs 1 (plus some new improvements) with a better setting, better characters, and better graphics than Watch Dogs 2. And yet some of these critics are giving it terrible reviews, lots of 60-70 range reviews, some of them don't even make any sense, one oddly compared Watch Dogs to Dearth Defense Force and Goat Simulator. I can't help but think that critics are pulling the same crap they pulled in 2013 again. |
Yup this is the same vibe im getting. The graphics, gameplay loop/mechanics, and world all look like a step up from Watch Dogs 1 and 2. People were probably expecting too much with the ability to play as anyone and I've heard last gen versions have some issues.
If you got an Xbox Series pre order from bestbuy check your emails. They're letting people pick them up as early as 6am if you make an appointment. If that's too early for you the console can still be picked up anytime throughout the day.

Better go with backup, you don't want to get jumped in the parking lot. Pretty sure there will be a lot of that.
