The irony is they could've used this in their favor by having leaks happen instead of scheduling shows to build hype around whether X leak was true or not.

They need a new marketing head. I volunteer.

Seriously Microsoft sucks SO much at marketing their shit :(

Sony is very good at it, so good that they are actually doing some really shady stuff a nobody seems to care about it.

For the Play Station Four, they were basically on board with the whole digital thing for a while until they realized that the market was not ready for it. Then unlike Microsoft they completely turned around and even used it to destroy Microsoft on any occasion.

For the Play Station Five, they do not support the old controllers and they are riding the "haptic" feedbacks like you cannot play games without it and even came up with some ads about it... And people are buying it lol...

I mean, they are the Apple of the console market. They are so good at it.

I wish Microsoft would have a decent marketing team at least...

With $299 for Xbox Series S, Microsoft odds of winning the US over the PS5 have shot up. PS5 will likely win worldwide, but the gap between the two will be smaller than the current-gen.

Comes down to the games. Right now with Halo delayed and most of their games coming 2022 or 2023 I think Sony will sell more in America unless MS has a lot of unannounced games coming next yeat.

Wut?

I'm confused... If another console was out there, we would know already right, rumors or such?

The Edinburgh rumor was from July.

I say digital Series X or the controller-less Series S

That would be amazing... (Digital only X) but I fear Microsoft would have announced it already if it was the case...

Has Xbox Series X been confirmed for 499?

I wonder what Edinburgh could be? I was looking back at Brad Sams codename leak from 2 years ago, when he first leaked the Scarlett, Anaconda, and Lockhart codenames. He said that the codename for the streaming box MS was planning at the time was Scarlett Cloud, which means that Edinburgh is probably not a streaming box/stick. Other possibilities I can think of:

  • Disc drive Series S
  • Digital Series X
  • Xbox Handheld or Phone with bundled handheld controller (something like that Razor xCloud controller)
  • Early codename for the mid-gen refresh console
  • Xbox branded gaming PC line

My hopes are for a digital-only Series X or a PC gaming line :)

The Xbox Handled controller is actually a cool idea, maybe one with an LCD screen already included so you can use it to play from anywhere (even at home and stream from one of your local consoles)

Feels like Brad (Sams) is burning a few bridges lately.

Brad vs Brad.
