Man fuck you, FF should be for everyone. SMH

I'd be cool with anything they money hat except FF 16, GTA 6, and Saints Row 5.
Edit: Yo I'd be fine with Witcher 4 exclusive to PS5 :)

Totally agree with this one. I would even happily trade GTA 6 and SR5 alongside Witcher 4 in return of FF16 releasing day one on Xbox

Man stfu. You don't even believe that, BS. You know how I know? You didn't even play Crackdown 3.

Say what you will about this being a crappy gen for Xbox in terms of sales and other struggles, but it's my favorite one.

It's made gaming more social and enjoyable for me and I love the console, UI and everything. Exclusive games have been awesome and Xbox still offers the best games of my favorite genres. Operation 4 of Gears 5 made sure the king of 3rd person shooters ends the gen on a highest note.

And every night in my dreams Phil and I do this scene from Dirty Dancing. And I look hot in those jeans shorts!

eh I still prefer 7th gen but that's not alone on MS.

7th gen had far more awesome 3rd party games.

3 Bioshock games for 360 vs. not a single new one on X1.
3 Mass Effect games vs. 1
3 Dead Space (2 good ones) vs. 0
2 Dragon Age vs. 1
3 Batman Arkham vs. 1
2 Elder Scrolls vs. 0
2 GTA vs. 0
2 Rayman vs. 0
Multiple Valve games (Left 4 Dead 1+2, Portal 1+2, Half-Life 2) vs. 0

You know this upcoming generation is going to suck when where spectating on whats been moneyhatted before the gen starts.

I loved 7th gen the best. But 8th had its ups and downs.

@Ryuu96 New discussion topic to maybe bring up morale in here. What has been you best gaming experience this gen? Could be any of the platforms, games, etc. And what are you looking forward to the most for gen 9 and upcoming games?  For me it was playing Forza Horizon 2. I never played anything like that and it just blew me away. Helped me out during a rough part of my life back in 2014 and since then I have fallen in love with the games. Very much looking forward to Horizon 5. Best game this gen might be Persona 5 Royal. And recently I'd say I really enjoyed my time playing Grounded with Ryuu and Iceland. You can talk to some of the same people each day, but when you get on VC with them it's a little different. Cool mates to fight fat ass lady bugs and build houses with.

Loving the direction MS is headed. I feel it will take time with these new studios, but I'm very much looking forward to Grounded next year, Horizon 5, and Fable, as three of my most anticipated experiences. Hoping loading times are a lot shorter as well.

I wouldn't say it would be a major loss for MS if they don't sell an Xbox console to a person who plays on Switch as a primary platform but is interested in playing MS Studios games tbh. Even though, the majority of Xbox fans disagree with this, I don't think that a person who just pays for GamePass or buys MS games from Steam can really be considered an Xbox customer. Because they don't really bring that much to the platform. Their investments are nothing on a large scale. In order for the platform to grow, it needs to have a lot of customers buying third-party games on that platform. EA or Ubisoft are not gonna evaluate the need to bring their games to Xbox judging by how MS games are selling on different platforms. They are gonna evaluate it by looking at how their own games sell on Xbox console and Xbox console only. So, as I've said, the person who primarily plays on the Switch but just buys Xbox to play MS games is not a big loss because he doesn't invest in Xbox ecosystem to make it worthy for MS to sell a hardware to such person. But on the other hand, of course it is probably better to sell as many consoles as MS potentially can because it at least opens up an opportunity to invest. I just can't say that bringing xCloud to Switch will really hurt Xbox that much that it will be some huge mistake on MS part.

I’m not saying that Switch people would be buying Xbox just to play some 1st party games. I’m saying that because Switch often lacks 3rd party support, many Switch owners buy either a PlayStation or Xbox to play the 3rd party games they can’t play on Switch, and 1st party exclusives are often the deciding factor for them between Xbox and PlayStation.

We have several Switch fans right here on VGC who bought Xbox as their 2nd console for playing 3rd parties that don’t release on Switch and the Xbox exclusives that interest them. But, if you make those Xbox exclusives playable on Switch, suddenly that advantage over PlayStation is gone, a Switch person can use Switch as their primary, PS for their secondary for playing 3rd parties and any Sony 1st party that interests them, and play any MS 1st party that interests them on Switch through xCloud. That’s lost hardware sales when every console sold matters in the eyes of publishers.

I think you found something peculiar I completely overlooked.

I mean, don't you think MS's first party looks strangely... Nintendo-ish? Is it possible that perhaps, for some bizarre reason, MS is trying to get not Sony's fans, but Nintendo fans on their side?

Also, xCloud is still going to rake in money. The subscription service needs mass and people who wouldn't splurge on a Series X or S will be able to do so on GPU and get the same deal for the most part on their favorite device.

One of the XboxEra insiders confirmed Street Fighter 6 is multiplatform.

I love you Capcom, I'm sorry I ever doubt you, #CapcomIsBackBaby!

Seems like Capcom isn't interested in any moneyhat bullshit anymore.

Man I wish it was SF 6 over FF 16. Capcom still sucks, hate all their games too ROFL. jk I liked...

Joking around but honestly I do respect Capcom a little more for making SF6 multiplatform if true, they could have easily took a deal, I bet they were offered one too. They started this generation poorly, taking scrap deals from everyone but now they're in a great place, releasing critically acclaimed titles one after another.

Seems Square Enix are the only sellouts so far, oof, hows that feel Spade?

Also apparently SF is in a bit of development trouble, rumour is Ono was kicked from the project and it has been delayed internally.

Bruh I told you Discord, SE was doing so well.

They had brought all those FF games to Xbox... FUCKING DRAGON QUEST 11... FF 14 confirmed, 7 HD, 8,9,10 collection, 12, hell even World of FF, and then they had to fuck it up by taking that FF 7R deal, which to be honest sales not THAT impressive. Again not saying that they would have been stellar, but still not the greatest for a renowned FF game.

Best Gaming Experience

Idk...Ori genuinely made me cry so that is more memorable to me out of any game

Switch is an amazing platform, I love it.

Most Looking Forward to in Gen 9.

RPG Blitz - Seriously I say it a lot but it bugged me how 360 was full with RPGs but One had practically none, I'm hyped AF to have veteran RPG makers like Obsidian and InXile making big budget RPGs for Xbox, I'm hyped to see Fable finally return, I'm hyped for Outer Worlds 2 and if they time them right we could have an RPG per year for 4 years.

Upcoming Games

Halo Infinite, Fable, Avowed from the announced ones.

Best Game This Gen

Witcher 3.

-

Grounded is awesome, can't wait for its full release, Obsidian are proving themselves as MVPs already.

Love the direction Microsoft is heading too, it will take some time for the big hitters but at least we can actually see the future now rather than speculating on what it could be, we actually know what is coming.

Yeah I'm really loving the switch. Not really liking their current direction of where tf they're going and some of their prices, but it's also a shitty time rn, so I guess I I can give them a pass. Circling back to your other point, I honestly feel embarrassed for what has happened to Rockstar. It's crazy what money has done to them, I mean, to a degree I do not blame them, but to release GTA 5 AGAIN.. and not even a mention of GTA 6 is embarrassing. Bethesda with Fallout and ES has also been a joke. EA really has fucked up Bioware, hopefully DA 4 delivers.

I feel Obsidian might be their dark horse purchase. PG to me is still their mint, but damn it was crazy what 13 people did for Grounded.

And then you have people calling game pass anti consumer and they hate the GaaS model. There have been so many games that I would not have played if it wasn't for Game pass. I never would have considered playing Crapdown 3, but I played it and really enjoyed it. Sea of Thieves was ok, but felt like you needed to really invest in it. I tried out State of Decay 2, which at launch did have problems. So I guess I can see where some people can get this notion for these "unfinished games." Game pass has also allowed me to try a game and then later buy it (at a reduced price too, example Kiwami 2, 0.)

I think MS' biggest challenge is going to be making their their games are up to snuff technically. Releasing a game and then fixing it, ie) Infinite isn't the greatest way to show off Game pass' potential with the ray tracing being added. I'm hoping that is one thing that will be rectified for gen 9.

Yeah the lack of RPGs this gen from Xbox disappointed me. I'm just glad we got Fable.

Really interested to see Hellblade gameplay, fuck just talking about iceland. Hoping the gameplay is a little more engaging than the last. New AAA games from Inexile and The Initiative as well.
