This constantly shifting schedule of....stuff...is already exasperating, and it's not even June yet.

Yep, if there is 1 thing this summer is teaching us, it's that E3 is still a very necessary thing for game announcements. Having so much packed into 5 days makes everything simple and easy for consumers. Having everything spread out from May-August is just a huge mess that nobody can keep track of.

I looked at IGN's Summer of Gaming schedule 2 days ago and I have already forgotten which days had new game announces listed.

I think with the exception of a few of the bigger events, like the PS showcase, and what MS is doing in July, I'm not even gonna bother trying to tune in for any of these things live. Just gonna come here and let Ryu fill me in on anything semi-important that happens.

Hulu is adding a watch party feature. It makes me remember, on the 360 you could watch Netflix with your friends in a virtual movie theater, and everyone's avatar was there. It was a neat little feature and shows it may have been ahead of its time. Then I went down this rabbit hole of thoughts about the avatars in general. I wish Xbox would do a bit more with them. They need to add some cool features utilizing these ugly bastards because right now they only good for gamer pics and when checking out a person's profile. Hopefully Xbox has some plan with them next gen because if they're not going to do anything else, they might as well scrap the whole thing. Plus using the avatar creation app is so sloowww. It sometimes takes minutes for something to load. It's so bad.

I agree. They should create a virtual social hub for avatars, where you can meet up either with your friends, or just join a public instance to meet new people. From there it could let you jump straight into watch parties on various video services, que up to online modes of your favorite games, and you can build a bunch of mini games into the actual hub. Things like poker, pickup basketball, bowling, chess, pool tables, darts, etc...

That would be cool. There are already groups/clubs so why not take that a step further and make a virtual club house based around what the group his. If it's a Halo group, you can add decorations in you're club house to make it Halo themed or whatever.

Since no one else has done so yet I'll insert the generic "Microsoft buying Dontnod confirmed" comment.

It wouldn't be a bad acquisition. Not my kind of games, but people enjoy those story driven games with very little gameplay.

What Microsoft really needs to do is make a big splash and acquire a bigger studio. While Microsoft has acquired small to medium large studios, Sony went and acquired one AAA studio, Insomniac.

Dontnod don't just make the episodic story games they have done Action/Adventure and RPG with Vampyr and Remember Me but I agree stuff releasing episodic like Life is Strange is a perfect fit for the Gamepass model and probably why they signed a deal with them for Tell Me Why.

Would be funny if they added this before the other FF games.

Maybe? Idk. Never owned a Wii, and only ever played like Wii Sports on it with my brother who owned one.

I've seen this post quoted a couple times now and people mentioning it's like so and so, to which my response is sure...if somebody else has already laid the ground work, go ahead and copy it, and hopefully improve upon it.
