Just bought A Plague Tale for 20$, my backlog keeps growing and I don’t have the effort to finish games these days lol.
Last title I finished was Wolfenstein 2 on gamepass.

I dont bother finishing games unless their like 6-8 hours long. I still enjoy what I've played from large games even though I rarely finish them.

The older I get, the harder I am finding it to finish games. Recently started 2 games, didn't finish either one before I got bored of them. There were like 5 or 6 games in 2019 that I started and didn't finish. This year I might have to start only playing games that really excite me, like Cyberpunk 2077, FF7 Remake, and Halo Infinite, and leave the ones that don't interest me as much alone. |
RE3,Cyberpunk and Halo are the only games that excite me this year the later two are going to be day 1 buys for me.
The only titles that I bought at full price this year are Gears 5 and Cod: MW and I own pretty much 95% of all the high profile games that have come out on Xbox this year many of them I have not even started at all.

Same even the ones I enjoy I can’t seem to finish, when ever I boot up my Xbox I just end up playing 4-6 matches of Halo 5 Warzone and call it a day.
Yeah, I have the same problem. Didn't finish even one game last year but started a lot (Gears 5, The Outer Worlds, Pillars of Eternity, Wolfenstein 2 and so on...)
Sometimes I sit here and think half an hour about which game I want to play more and in the end I play nothing, start a multiplayer match (mostly Apex) or start the next god damn game just to stop playing it after a few hours to have one more unfinished game^^
My motivation to finish games is non-existent for a while now even though I almost liked most games I played the last year a lot.
I'm 35 now, maybe it's the midlife crisis haha

Same here but that's nothing new. I already felt like this during the 360 era.
Usually it's the best to start a game without thinking about it.
Still got so many where I only played one or two levels...
At least I do manage to finish games but it's rarely something above 10 hours in length. Recently started AC Odyssey, RDR2 and Valkyria Chronicles 4. That's going to take a while.

I've reflected on my viewpoint a bit. Where this could be an issue is with the lack of assumed SSD.
In theory the lessor consoles can load large world areas just the same as the Series X albeit with lessor graphical fidelity. In practice, as worlds get too complex (as opposed to too big, as games don't actually load the whole map at once), they're likely to struggle. Realistically, there's a point at which load times on non-SSD consoles would become impractical, and at THAT stage it is possible devs will stop pushing the envelope on the Series X. Hope I am wrong.
starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS

@Bold, that reminds me, I'm pretty sure Morgoth, the Gears leaker over on Era said something to that effect, that they're planning on doing something slightly more than just a resolution boost for Series X, they're planning on supporting the game until Gears 6 so will make it feel fresh on Series X as well, so sorta a 'relaunch' It would be kinda cool if we got some single-player DLC, while I enjoyed the story I still don't like the big gap in the story between Act II - Act III. |
It is the perfect game to display at the hardware reveal event. You can show the hardware capabilities and the difference between One S, One X and series X. You don't reveal new game and take away something from E3 which will take place soon after.
Big Season Pass Sale going on right now.
Got myself the Shadow of the Tomb Raider "season pass". Still waiting for the Far Cry 5 one to get a little cheaper.
I told you already how the horrible CPU of XBO will stop devs to do some stuff the next years on Series X because the CPU really changes possible game design decisions.
But at least DF does say that as well now so that some more people will realize how bad this situation really is. Sony's devs can design their games around something much better even If the GPU will be weaker.
Just horrible for Series X.
They went from XBO which was too weak for many to "we understood that so that we will have a super powerful next gen console but the games on it will be designed to also work with Jaguar which stopped devs this gen already to do a lot of stuff".
Gamepass is nice and all but it won't help MS when they are behind again next gen. This time not with resolution but with physics, AI and so on...
