Benchmark for Halo Infinite, guess it's not my setup causing the performance issues.
Benchmarks for 4K and 1440p here
https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/ralufn/halo_infinite_campaign_pc_performance_benchmarks/

I have a GTX 1060 (still the most common card) and get similar results. However it's not a constant low fps, it keeps fluctuating. Odd, since inside it's all fine and FH5 manages to maintain 72fps on high settings at 1080p. Badly optimized open world.

Yeah the openworld is a performance problem for me on Series S. Playing in performance mode.

No idea how digital foundry can say "an almost perfect locked 60fps". Soon as I got to openworld it was immediately apparent it dropping frames and it has the entire time I've been in the open world.

Still the performance isn't bad enough to make me not enjoy the game.

I do not believe that said that about series S but the X instead.  Since I am playing on the X, so far its been pretty smooth.

True, but I'll stick to normal difficulty for now since aiming isn't all that great with a mouse with dips down to 12 fps. Leaving heroic for co-op and optimizations. It's still gorgeous but they should have used the FH5 engine for the open world :)

Heads up on Archvale the game is a ton of fun but if you would play it for the achievements, their are two obtainable achievements (to unlock them you need something that is not put in the game yet). The next update will fix it but we haven't a day yet.

These days the best experience is had by people who play the games years after launch. Just finished Gears 4 last week. Yea old game but looks amazing, ran at high/ultra with me getting 120-160 fps.

Meanwhile Halo, dead. Low settings everything and struggles to hit 60. Game is made for Series X alone so far unless you brute force with 1500 dollar gpu. Even that is not ideal.

You guys should try a power cycle. The Xbox's operating system can start getting buggy if you don't switch it fully off once in a while. DF mentioned a while ago that they always completely cycle xbox systems before testing for this reason. I remember this being a particular problem with Yooka-Laylee where power cycle vs. no power cycle meant up to 20fps difference on base Xbox One and was unplayable for me until i did it.

As for PC specs. Yeah it's quite rough. Beta didn't launch on my 750ti and I refuse to get scalped for a big ticket item, so I bought a 1050ti 4GB expecting to get 900p/60fps on medium judging by MP performance. Even at 720p low or dynamic 1080p low there's just no configuration which delivers 60fps consistently. 30fps on the other hand is pretty easy to get so you can get some decent medium/high settings with low textures even on this budget card. That Series S does better settings than it at twice the framerate is to be expected given console optimisation and the fact that it has twice the GPU power..

I bet @Ryuu96 is hoping for Bioshock to be PS exclusive so he can get more comments from the inevitable meltdown in here

Played the first level of Infinite.

The 30FPS cutscenes and animations that Digital Foundry mentioned a while ago distract me quite a bit. I'm probably going to wait until that's fixed... hopefully.

I’m playing on normal because I usually play on normal but on infinite normal feels like easy. The grapple hook makes this game the easiest Halo imo.

holy shitballs
