Forums - Gaming Discussion - Final Fantasy 7 Remake timed exclusivity period announced, 1 year timed

Yes I totally get there will be plenty of people "I won't buy a PS4 or FFVIIR when I can play Ori2 instead".

No need to act superior about other people's gaming choices. Ori is an excellent game and Ori 2 looks incredibly promising.

This is just a shitty move. Sony is really starting to piss me off and push me away, they are making bad decision and shitty move after shitty move. Pretty sure they are about to repeat the early ps3 disaster and MS are primed to take advantage. Love Sony but my loyalty is to my time management and if MS or PC offer better ways to fill that time with less shit, censorship and none of these cheap tricks but instead real competitive meat, then I'll be with them.

What are you talking about? You can't possibly mean the whole time exclusive thing. You know...the thing that they (Sony) were forth coming with from the beginning, right?!

Not acting superior or have the need to it.

But to pretend the exclusivity of FFVIIR doesn't matter because Ori2 will launch exclusively around same time is BS.

Mr Puggsly: "Hehe, I said good profit. You said big profit. Frankly, not losing money is what I meant by good. Don't get hung up on semantics"

Ori 2 was mentioned once in this thread, in a post with several examples of games, including TLoU2.

And I don't even agree with his larger point.

Expecting a PC release.

Yes it was mentioned once with other games. Cyberpunk, TLOU2 and Ori2. Like if the 4 would have similar impact on the market.

Ori2 may be a great game, even better than the first one, but it doesn't come close to the appeal of FFVIIR.

What does any of that have to do with OP? We now since E3 reveal it was timed exclusive and that most likely would be 1 year with great possibility of only PC receiving a port.

What’s this great possibility of only PC receiving a port? Is that based off any evidence you can provide or just console warz hopes and dreams? I have zero interest in playing through FF7 again on any platform in this chopped up method but I am genuinely curious.

The way it was revealed on the E3 both it and Shenmue 3 had the tone of showing first on PS4 then on PC and nothing else.

And if you read to what I was answering the core is that we new it wasn't permanent full exclusive. And that his rant on Sony doesn't make sense in this thread as the condition of the exclusivity not being full have always been know and isn't something of this past year (that is when he started complaining of changes Sony have been implementing with censorship and SJW behavior).

It was never stated it did. It was just included in an example list of games releasing at a similar time... You're reading way into it. Playing into the warz. Calm down.

I agree that it was widely known as not a PS4 exclusive. Just curious about the “high chance of only a PC port”. There’s no meat on that bone, just an assumption people are apparently making. Unless Sony paid them a lot of money, why would they pass up the Xbox user base?
