30. Nintendo's other huge crossover franchise (hint #2)
29. This arcade game is my favorite arcade game of all time. It was the debut of two of the biggest franchises of all time.
28. DIY version of one of the franchises in #29.

Among the interesting, well made and original shooters of the early 2000s was 'No One Lives Forever'. This game is obviously inspired by the James Bond franchise, in particular the movies from the 60s. The game is however, even more ridiculous in its plot and characters. It's all there; evil underground lairs, eyepatches and overly complicated ways to try to rule the world. Besides this it's just a clever shooter with good mechanics and interesting items used to solve problems and effective weapons to counter enemies. Those enemies have good AI and animations and levels are rich and varied, adding to the playability. The game kept me engaged and interested to see what happens next and I played through it several times. The sequel, "A Spy in HARM's Way" released a couple years later was equally great and he'd good graphics for the time, however, the novelty of the original wins out.
#31: This game franchise is not supposed to be in the survival horror genre, but because this familiar looking antagonist haunts you from beginning to end, this game might as well be.

Here are hints for my next handful of games:
30:
-If Hayao Miyazaki made a game.
29:
-The origin of the Dragon and the Mad Dog.
28:
-The goal is the mountain in the distance, but that's not really all that important here.
27:
-Possibly the first game ever that had a film specifically made to promote it.
#26:
-Heart, darkness, friendship, XIII, silliness, unexpected prologue.
