Forums - Gaming - Yooka-Laylee and The Impossible Lair Reviews (78% on MetaCritic)

I'm a little disappointed they went to 2-D. Yooka Laylee had issues, but while a lot of indies have done 2-D retro projects, not too many have tried collectathon platformers. But, at least it's good.

Huh, I might have to actually consider this game. It wasn't previously on my list.

“Consoles are great… if you like paying extra for features PCs had in 2005.”

The 3d game sold me this one. I'll buy it.

Looks like the change to 2-D style was a huge improvement.

I'm just happy the guys at Playtonic pulled it off this time. Happy to pick this one up.

I have it preordered and would have bought it regardless of the reviews, as it's basically a dream come true for me, a spiritual successor of sorts to the modern DKC games made by the classic Rareware guys.

Still, nice to see it's been well received.

I know I'm being nitpicky here, but I hate it when people call this game 2D, and that they hate that it's not 3D anymore. People, it's fully 3D, but it went from 3D movement to a sidescroller

Anyways, nice reviews, and honestly I think it was a good decision. I kind-off liked the first one, but this seems to be much more fun to play

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

I might have to get this now, seems like its doing well. I was a little worried about this. Seems they have redeemed themselves. Now I cannot wait for Luigi's Mansion 3.

Far better than I expected. I really liked the first game and hoped for a direct sequel that plays the same.

Exactly 83% on PS4/Switch. (at this moment) :o
