That's such a good news tbh, yes it didn't get to 200k but the fact the regular Switch got a... boost ? That looks incredibly promising for the holiday season.

Hardware looks solid. Hopefully software gets a nice boost out of it.

This and next week are going to be interesting (Lite Launch, Zelda, DQ) then we enter a slow period until the end of October and then we get LM3 and Pokemon, although Luigi won't do that much in Japan, all eyes are pretty much on Pokemon.

Edit: Citi expected 300k and now the Nintendo stock is dropping. "Experts"

I think that Spawn wave is responsible with his bullshit alarming video about the pretended same design of the stick.

Current PB on Secret of Mana remake : 2h27 (2nd)
Strongest worldwide achievement on TGM : 1st European S13 rank
Fastest TGM3 MASTER in Europe : rank Master V in 5min10
Western record on TGM3 EASY : 1484
Current PB on Power Ranger (Game Gear) : 10min06 (World Record)

lol what. No. Do you really think an american YouTuber with what, 400k subscribers is affecting sales of NS Lite in Japan? That's absurd. Even if you live in western countries who speak english, I doubt that the average consumer who is going to buy a Switch even know who Spawn Wave is.

And besides... Do you have any proof that what he's saying is bullshit? Are the sticks really different?

I am just saying that it is nearly impossible to know from just opening a Switch Lite and watching closely the parts.

No Spawn wave has not scared the buyers, but maybe a good bunch of investors.

Ah sorry...With a picture it will be easier to explain :

Sure it will, the last one did over 1 million in Japan alone.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

So 176k total for Switch, versus 52k the week before.

An increase of about 240%. Nice.

That are good numbers. Worldwide we should also see 2/3 Switch Lite and 1/3 Standard Switch in Switch Lite launch week.

In the upcoming weeks and holiday season I expect a 50/50 ratio and a 300k worldwide baseline from now on.

In the latest weekly data, the world outside Japan purchased 195k Switches.
So even if there was absolutely no boost in the West we'd be looking at nearly 400k for the week ending 21st September.
While I don't think the West will embrace the Lite quite as excitedly as Japan, I still think with the new model + Link's Awakening we could be looking at a 450k week.

While Spawnwave doesn't have much influence over buyers, he sure riles up people in the gaming community with alarmist theories. Pretty sure he's the one that started the whole Lite drifting panic soon after it was announced. He also tried to start rumors that Nintendo was going to have a two-tiered service when it came to NES and SNES games. When it was announced that it was all inclusive, he suddenly had amnesia like he never said it.
