I don't see what's so hard to understand. Just because a handheld can be connected to a TV and use a separate controller doesn't make it a home console. If it does, than there's several handhelds that can be considered "home consoles", starting with the Sega Nomad. If you want to use a term that broad to define "hybrid console" then all the power to you. Like I said, it's a marketing term. It's literally a matter of opinion.

If Nintendo makes a "switch" that can only be connected to a TV and doesn't have an independant power supply, Nintendo will have released a weak home console that plays Switch games. That doesn't make that console a hybrid. And if it did, that would mean that the PS4 has to be considered a hybrid since Sony bundled the PS4 and the PS Vita together in Europe and therefore "out of the box" you were able to play any PS4 game as long as you had a strong enough wireless (possibly 3g? not sure) connection, does that mean the 

Let me turn it around. Let's say Sony makes a portable PS4, and has a separate dock accessory that allows to connect the portable to a TV, and sync multiple PS4 controllers to it, is that "a hybrid console" in your mind? Why or why not? If not, if Sony then creates a bundle that includes the dock accessory in one box, does that make it a hybrid?

I agree with you and I've mentioned this on another unrelated thread, but this opinion will be regarded here as heresy. If I were you I'd just give in. You'll not find many that will agree with you anyway. It's a waste of your time.

If you're asking if VGC will put the Switch bar on the left or the right, I think they'll stick with left. Because that's where it is now.

If you're asking if VGC will put the Switch bar on the left or the right, I think they'll stick with left. Because that's where it is now.

That'd be totally unfair. Lite is handheld console capable of selling even more than the regular. Families will buy multiples of it. Putting a Swich sales bar that includes Lite sales against PS4 bar is just wrong. I hope someone from the staff can clarify that.

Yes it does since Switch and Switch Lite have got the same library of games and the Switch has been counted against PS/XB since release.

I have a lot of crow to eat. A Switch that can't switch is a LI(t)E.

As for the system, I hate it and love it. Very clever but a bit naughty not to allow video out through the USB-C port even if it's only HH performance.

I'll still take TV-out and local multi for $300 over the increased portability but a $99-149 Switch TV and $200 Lite would be very tempting especially if gameplay was seamless.

Yes it does since Switch and Switch Lite have got the same library of games and the Switch has been counted against PS/XB since release.

But Switch was considered a home console, Lite isn't. The sales behauviour will be completely different considering that it's a handheld console like 3DS, much cheaper, families will buy multiple units, etc. Totally unfair if we compare Lite sales against true current gen home consoles.
