I made nothing up. My previous post actually took a bit of research to make sure I was remembering correctly. Ultimately, Jordan didn't retire because he had nothing to prove. He retired both times because he couldn't be Michael Jordan anymore. Compare that to Bird who played in pain for years before being dragged off the court, or Lebron at the same age looking for new challenges and ways to expand his game, or Kareem just going to work, making those skyhooks and winning championships same as always, into his 40s. And, again the Bulls did very well the year Jordan was gone. It was never just Jordan. They were a talented, well-coached team that could compete for a championship without him. Maybe they didn't win when the best player on the planet left right before the season, but they could play ball. |
He won 3 straight championship. Nba greats magic, Isaiah already said he was the greatest ever after the 1st 3 peat so he had nothing to prove. Then his father was murdered so maybe that pushed him over the edge to take a break. The bulls did well because they added a few decent players and they were well coached and highly motivated. The year after they were an average team because they werent as motivated and didnt have as much luck. Maybe they realized they couldnt win without jordan i dont know. And again you were making shit up by saying jordan needed the best rebounder, the best 6th man to win championship. As for phil being the best coach, he had jordan and pippen. Most coaches would win championship with a prime jordan and pippen. Lebron Not only left to join with wade and bosh because he couldnt win, he also destroyed team by demanding to trade half the team multiple times. Jordan never thrown his team under the bus
