This seems like a nice compromise :)

I’ve been sorta ambivalent about likes, but now I view them as more meaningful and maybe more productive in terms of relationship building on the forum. If member A sees member B like his/her post, perhaps that starts a conversation and even a friendship.

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Cool, it's nice to know

Thanks Talon for your work.

You mean clear the indicator? Just go to Notifications (from the Avatar drop-down)...

The avatar drop menu doesn’t work in Safari. Not for me anyway. Hasn’t for months.

Me neither actually, on my iPad.

Hey TalonMan

Do other members of site staff have the ability to see who liked what posts too, or is that just site admin level stuff?

This is unironically very true. I have a habit of assuming that people i might have disagreed with in the past (a.k.a. 99% of the forum) are judgmental, hold a grudge or dislike me. No particular reason for that really and I don't think it's true but that's definitely how it feels. It seems like a lot of people that I would have assumed that about like my posts, though.

I guess that's kind of a superficial way of looking at it and it's probably a wrongful form of validation, but it's a start
