Gamecube is a name that sounds good but the problem is that the design kind of has to be ridiculous to go along with the name.

I remember it getting called a "Fisher price toy" by fans of rival consoles. Not sure if it was due to the name, the design or both!

In my opinion the N64 was not just the best console of the 5th gen but, to this day the best console ever created!

Switch, because its (a) an actual word, (b) tells you what the thing does ("switch" between console and handheld) and ( c) doesn't have Wii in the title.

While I don't think it had the best name of the bunch, (though it's name certainly isn't bad) I do agree that on the whole the SNES remains the single greatest console Nintendo has ever made. (Heck, in my book it's the single greatest console ever made by anyone)

I don't think the design of the cube itself was that bad, I think the issue was the controller with its colourful and weird-shaped buttons and the purple colour.

The problem there is that the Gamecube was a failure, so consumers would've been generally disinclined to buy another product named after it, just like Switch would've been a much less appealing proposition if it was called the Wii U 2.

Gamecube and N64 are the coolest console names ever they named. The funny thing about the Wii, many people were calling GCN2 or GCNext aka codename Revolution.

Well.. it's not Wii and N64 at least.

Nintendo or Super Nintendo were pretty bad ass back in the day.. I do like both Gamecube and Switch as well though...

I think age has really hurt the Super Nintendo name but back when it launched, that was the most amazing name in the history of games. With that said, Wii is, in my opinion, the best Nintendo home console name.
